PROS & CONS of ZetBet Online Betting Site

The below is all explained in finer detail later in this review, but these quick pros and cons give users an instant understanding of where ZetBet’s strengths lie.

👍 PROS

📝 Great market depth across different sports

🎮 Good esports offering

🤽 Great coverage of niche sports

👎 CONS

💰Lack of promotions

Who Are ZetBet?

ZetBet is relatively new in the UK bookmaker sphere, but is an Aspire Global site, so comes with the backing of plenty of experience. This is the company responsible for a multitude of successful bookies and casinos, but for the former think the likes of mr.play, Betiton and Neptune Play. Since its arrival ZetBet has built a reputation for great football betting and coverage of niche sports.

First Impression of ZetBet

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - This review will reflect the product offered at the time of writing. I signed up on the desktop version of ZetBet, and used the mobile version to compare, but there is no app to download.

If you’ve used any other Aspire Global sportsbooks, you’ll feel at home here as it follows the same style. You’ll immediately recognise the layout, as well as the navigation, with the only major difference being the colour and branding. Once you’ve selected “Sport” at the very top menu, you’ll immediately be taken to all the in-play markets. The menu down the side immediately conveys just how many sports, competitions and events are covered here. I also really like the slider on the menu bar to move from different time frames: today, three days, this week etc.

ZetBet Live Betting

As mentioned above, the in-play markets are where you’re directed to from the off, something that is fairly normal across most sportsbooks, allowing you to then choose to navigate from this page. There are some sports not featured here, snooker for example, which does suggest that the coverage isn’t quite as broad as I first thought, but there’s different esports and badminton covered, which is a theme that we’ll see continue. You can check if they make it into our best bookmakers for in-play betting here.

ZetBet Live Streaming

ZetBet doesn’t offer any live streaming at the time of this review.

ZetBet Betting Odds

Comparing ZetBet’s odds to that of other bookies, as well as checking some comparison sites, ZetBet – like other Aspire Global brands – offers very solid across the board . We checked football, tennis and cricket for in-play odds, plus horse racing, greyhounds and darts for pre-match and ante post odds. What’s worth highlighting is that ZetBet offers odds on some very niche sports (pesapallo and stock car racing, for example), so will be one of the few places you can find odds on such sports at all.

ZetBet Betting App or Mobile Site

In the intro I mentioned that there is no app, which is definitely disappointing. The mobile version is basically identical to the desktop version of the site. That said, on the mobile version there is an additional menu bar across the top for time sensitive tournaments, or competitions that are trending, meaning you don’t need to go through a few different pages to get to something that may be starting in the next few hours. It’s varied so includes (at the time of writing) the NBA play-offs, the Champions League, domestic rugby tournaments and the NHL, among others. It’s very handy.

ZetBet Football Betting

We rank every bookie, at every sport, and ZetBet doesn’t quite make our best football betting sites in the UK, but it’s still very good. The menu panel is telling me that there’s well over a thousand different games that I can bet on at this moment in time, and that’ll compete with anyone. Beyond that, you can’t argue with the market depth, which is also very impressive.

Bet Builder

I think on the whole, Aspire have improved their bet builder across most brands, because this is definitely better than similar products that I remember. The bet builder function works really well, and has more markets than you initially think – selecting certain markets bring about additional drop-downs and more markets. There’s plenty of player markets – something that can sometimes be overlooked – and it’s hard to fault.

Bonuses

It’s always a little disconcerting when a bookie lists features such as cash out and bet builder in their promotions page, because these are fairly standard across the board and it’s definitely a stretch to call them promotions. ZetBet claims that they reward loyal customers with additional bonuses, which is good to hear, but I’d definitely like to see some more in the way of promotions from the off.

Cash Out

Cashout is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. ZetBet have done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

ZetBet Horse Racing

ZetBet’s horse racing offering is fine. We’ve already highlighted the fact that there are next to no promotions on any sports really. The actual odds for horse racing are quite good, but there’s no BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed), which is a bit of a let down. There’s also a distinct lack of meets covered. Today, for example, there are races at Kempton, Yarmouth, Southwell and Ayr, but none of those are here at ZetBet, who just have odds for the Epsom Derby. This could definitely be better, and you can see how they compare to our top 10 best betting sites for BOG.

ZetBet US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available. We’ll check out the major leagues, but also look into the sports further down the pyramid and, as well as across the globe.

American Football Betting

Unfortunately, ZetBet does something that is a real bugbear of mine when it comes to American sports, well certainly American football and basketball. When you see the event (a specific game) it only lists the winner and total. This is better than just displaying the result market, which some do, but what it really should show is three markets: spread, total and moneyline (result). You can see these once you click through, but it’s not how bettors on these sports bet, and calling it Asian Handicap (I know this works in almost exactly the same way) instead of “Spread” jars. The good news is that there are absolutely loads of markets here, including next season’s outrights and NFL Draft markets, which is great to have. It’s worth checking out our best NFL betting sites to see how ZetBet compares.

Basketball Betting

I think ZetBet has a great selection of basketball leagues to bet on, there are hundreds and hundreds of competitions. There’s obviously the NBA, but ZetBet covers a wide range of EuroLeague and domestic world competitions, including competitions in Colombia, Latvia, The Philippines, New Zealand and Estonia, among others. There are also plenty of markets per game, with game, team and player markets covered impressively.

Baseball Betting

ZetBet obviously covers the MLB, but they also have markets for the Japanese and South Korean leagues. The markets, and the odds, especially on the outrights, look excellent. The MLB season is well underway and there are loads of things to bet on, including individual awards, as well as all the usual game markets. Keep tabs on the top baseball betting sites though, to see why they make it onto our list.

Ice Hockey Betting

The NHL takes up the bulk of space here, as expected. But there are also some Finnish, Australian, and German fixtures included, among others. I selected an upcoming NHL game and there are loads of markets listed – more than pretty much anywhere else. For the smaller leagues that reduces a bit more, which is understandable. Overall, I’m struggling to think of any other bookies that have as many markets per game, apart from other Aspire brands.

ZetBet Greyhound Betting

This isn’t great, and I’d be surprised if any big greyhound bettors are coming to ZetBet. There are some odds for the English Greyhounds Derby and that’s it. There’s obviously no Best Odds Guaranteed, but there are around 15 different tracks across the UK with races on today, let alone abroad, and none are featured here. It’s obviously a conscious decision to not attack greyhound racing properly, because it doesn’t match the effort across a lot of other sports.

ZetBet Darts Betting

By Matt Edgar, professional darts player – Compared to other darts betting sites in the UK, ZetBet has some positives and negatives. The outrights on future events are great, but once you click through to the match ups the number of markets drops quite a lot, and I can’t stack any bets within that. Maybe they increase the market number and variety closer to the time of the match, but I’d definitely like to see more earlier on.

ZetBet Snooker Betting

By Steve Madgwick - As with the best snooker betting sites, there are markets for a few different tournaments, including the World Championships and the Champions League. At the time of the review we’re in the middle of the Champions League, which I can’t live stream unfortunately, but I do like the amount of markets per game that they offer, and generally the odds are pretty good.

ZetBet Rugby Betting (Union & League)

By Luke Bradshaw Lee - Overall, this is quite impressive. Union and League are split into different categories which, to me, makes sense. For both, there is pretty much every competition that you’d want to be included here, which is brilliant. The only omission to that is the Japanese domestic league, but that’s being very nit-picky, because overall the coverage of competitions is fantastic. What lets it down, however, and seems at odds with other sports, is market depth per game isn’t great. See how they compare to our best Rugby betting sites.

ZetBet Cricket Betting

By James Banting - This is pretty nice because ZetBet offers all the competitions that I’d expect to see, plus a couple of extras that I wasn’t with some domestic events and leagues all over the globe. I also really like how many markets are available here for each game, assuming it’s not miles away in the future before teams are announced etc. For those that are a bit of a way off, there are still some good futures and antepost markets to take advantage of, so overall I’m pretty happy with the cricket betting here.

ZetBet Tennis Betting

By James Banting - At the time of review their tennis section has 286 different tennis markets to bet on, which is fantastic. These games obviously cover the world, with the Grand Slams right down to smaller Challenger events. The odds are good, and there’s plenty of markets, but I’d like to see more in-play markets. There’s no live streaming, but the stats that feature are pretty good. See if they make it into the top 10 tennis betting sites on OLBG.

ZetBet Golf Betting

By James Banting - ZetBet’s golf offering is about par for the course I reckon. There are futures markets on all the majors (although no Ryder Cup stuff), and there is a selection, around six or seven, of upcoming tournaments of varying importance. Yes, you’ll find a bit more at some other bookies – and it’s worth checking our best golf betting sites to see how ZetBet compares – but generally this is fine.

ZetBet Motorsports Betting

By Andy Powell - The motor sports here are okay. Everything is it’s own thing, rather than housed under a “motor sports” banner, but I can see Formula 1, obviously, on top of Speedway and Indy racing. There’s nothing in the way of bikes, such as MotoGP, or any NASCAR, which is a little annoying, especially when something as niche as stock car racing is included. Overall I am impressed with the detail in the Formula 1 markets, and if I ever choose to make a stock car bet I know where to come.

ZetBet Boxing Betting

By Frank Monkhouse former professional boxer - There’s lots of boxing bouts to get stuck into here, and the markets look dependent on timings. Those this weekend and over the next few weeks have an okay offering, whereas the further away they get the less markets on offer. That’s understandable, and I wouldn’t expect to find round by round and the like for fights that are months away, but I would definitely like more options for big bouts this weekend, and that’s definitely limited based on my experience with ZetBet.

ZetBet Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is still a large enough market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG; let’s dig in a bit further.

Handball Betting

Betting on handball at ZetBet looks very impressive. There’s actually over 100 games to bet on at the time of review, and that’s way more than most bookies. There aren’t loads of markets per game, but the odds are great and there are competitions in Bahrain, Estonia, Iceland, Egypt and more listed. Handball is increasingly popular and ZetBet looks to be struggling in terms of providing a platform for punters to bet on various handball events and tournaments worldwide.

Cycling Betting

ZetBet offers betting on cycling for sports bettors who like to dabble in cycling betting, and comparing it with others out there it’s what we’d expect. There isn’t a load of markets, but that’s true of anywhere to be honest. What you can get is odds on next year’s Tour de France winner, plus the Classics like the Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix and Milan-San Remo.

Aussie Rules Football Betting

As far as ZetBet is concerned, their event coverage is pretty standard – they have most parts covered. The games, competitions and odds are good, but the actual list of markets isn’t huge per game. It’s not as great as some others out there, but overall they are still a solid option.

Political Betting

By Nigel Skinner - ZetBet houses its political betting under “Specials”, along with Entertainment. The political betting is okay, but a bit limited in parts. This is essentially split into UK and US politics, with a decent amount on the General Election, next party leaders and size of majority, and there is a similar offering for the US, but there is nothing from anywhere else around the globe.

Entertainment and Specials Betting

By Jake Ashton - This is a bit basic from ZetBet, with some music, award ceremonies and TV programmes covered. It’s tricky trying to work out what determines the offering because things like The Oscars and BAFTAs make sense, but Big Brother Brazil and Festival Di SanRemo seem a little out of place.

Esports Betting

The esports betting at ZetBet is excellent, particularly when it comes to the number of games covered. Don’t expect to find an “Esports” tab in the main menu, as all different games have their own navigation. There’s a really good selection here, with Counter-Strike, Dota 2, League of Legends, Starcraft, Valorant and Call of Duty. Each game is represented well – there are over 80 100 for Valorant alone at the time of writing.

Virtual Sports

ZetBet offers no virtual sports betting at the time of this review.

Casino

ZetBet does have casino, which is incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top. They also have some bonuses and offers that lead to casino spins should you win sportsbook bets. Check our Casino Sites page for dedicated new online casinos and slot sites.

ZetBet Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen ZetBet has their “Open Account” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

I’m surprised that there is no app, because other Aspire Global brands have apps that work well and that I like. That said, I do like the user experience of ZetBet, and I think the same for their other sportsbooks that use the same interface. It can take a little getting used to – especially the way the menu drops down, rather than takes you through to another page, but once you get the hang of it I think it works really well, and does a great job of conveying what is available very quickly.

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to ZetBet I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed.

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like ZetBet has got this part nailed.

ZetBet Responsible Gambling Features

As with all online betting companies, responsible gambling should be and will be an essential element of the service provided.

Expect KYC procedures and document supply as a matter-of-course, to confirm your account after you have deposited a certain level of funds and in the event of any large wins.

You can set limits for yourself across depositing options and daily staking options too, so you can set your levels and keep control of your gambling.

Expect ZetBet to contact you via your preferred communication method if there are suspicious activities on your account. This protects your account from being accessed by someone other than you and ensures you control your gambling activity. ZetBet have a legal obligation to question your activity if they believe it to be suspicious.

As part of ZetBet's commitment to safer gambling, they aim to make zero revenue from harmful gambling by the end of 2023.

ZetBet Review Summary

Bettors of particular sports have to consider a ZetBet account because there are markets here that you won’t find anywhere else, or at the very least, will struggle to find anywhere else beyond other Aspire brands.

Most major sports have a great amount of markets than most other bookies. There are, however, some that are very limited. Horse racing, greyhound racing and a couple of others aren’t good enough to bet regularly with. And for the US sports, while the actual content is fine there’s too many product/style issues that mean it won’t compete against better services.

That aside, there are some very niche sports here that aren’t covered by the majority of competitors such as bandy, chess, lacrosse, water polo and winter sports. And that’s on top of great football coverage, as well as other major sports like tennis and cricket.

There is a lack of promotions beyond the sign up offer, which will put some people off. If that’s not a problem, then there’s a very good chance that players will find what they’re after, because they haven’t seen it elsewhere, and end up loving it.
