Aitana Bonmati and Mikaela Shiffrin share favouritism at the top of the betting market for the Sportswoman of the Year with bookies unable to separate them at the top of the odds list.

Bonmati is arguably the best women's footballer on the planet currently after winning the Ballon d'Or Feminin as well as the World Cup after beating England in the final.

Shiffrin won a record-equaling eighth World Cup Slalom season title in Sweden back in March and Paddy Power put her alongside Bonmati in the market.

This year's Laureus World Sports Awards take place on 22nd April

The 2024 Laureus World Sports Awards is the 25th annual event which honour's the greatest sportsmen, sportswomen and teams from 2023.

This year's ceremony takes place in Madrid at the Palacio de Cibeles which is one of the most iconic buildings in the Spanish capital.

The Laureus Awards are usually referred to as the sporting equivalent of the Oscars and will take place on 22 April 2024 this year.
