Kris Marshall for Next Dr Who
Kris Marshall is a popular choice with Dr Who fans to take over from Jodie Whittaker when she stands down in the role at the end of this series. Martin Sheen has topped popularity polls too but does not appear in bookmakers Next Dr Who betting odds.
Marshall sits behind current favourite Olly Alexander and ahead of surprise candidate Lenny Henry. Michaela Coel has previously been the favourite to become the Fourteenth Doctor but has slipped to 8/1 in the betting, suggesting that perhaps, the Dr will be male once again.
The opinion is split on whether Olly Alexanders focus on his Years & Years musical persona and commitments really provides the opportunity to take on the role, whilst Marshall could strike a return to the affable and friendly personality of previous Dr's Tom Baker (4th Doctor 1974-1981), Sylvester McCoy (7th Doctor 1987-1989 +1996)
Radio Times Poll Provides Popularity Win for Michael Sheen
The versatile and uber-talented Michael Sheen has topped a poll undertaken by the Radio Times seeking the fans choice for the 14th Doctor in the series when Jodie Whittaker steps down.
However, Sheen does not appear in any bookmakers Next Doctor who betting list.
In fact, none of the top 5 places in the poll, taking up 59% of the entire vote across 10 candidates appear in the betting which leaves us a little confused as to how Radio Times constructed the candidate's list.

As unlikely as they are to be the next Dr Who, we do quite like the addition of people like QI stars Alan Davies and Stephen Fry tho.
