James and Maxy are the bookmakers favourites to win this year's Great British Bake Off

The class of 2022's Great British Bake Off have been announced and bookmakers are already giving betting odds for the show.

Bake Off is one of the most popular entertainment shows on British television and fans are eager for the show's come back in 8 days time.

Betway are giving odds on which of this year's contestants will win the show and there are two leading the way so far.

Bookmakers haven't gone off baking ability for the odds at the moment as there has been no episodes of the new series yet.

James, a 25 year old Nuclear Scientist and Maxy, a 29 year old Architectural Assistant, are the two who share the favouritism for the betting this year.

Kevin and Dawn are both longer than the 16/1 odds at the bottom of our table for this year's show.

James and Maxy are the 100/30 joint favourites to win this year's series of The Great British Bake Off, with this year's contestants already announced ahead of next Tuesday's first episode.

Great British Bake Off returns on Tuesday 13th September

This year's series of Great British Bake Off is set to return on Tuesday 13th September. 

The 12 contestants who are taking part on this year's show are:

  • Abdul, 29, Electronics Engineer, London
  • Carole, 59, Supermarket Cashier, Dorset
  • Dawn, 60, IT Manager, Bedfordshire
  • James, 25, Nuclear Scientist, Cumbria
  • Janusz, 34, Personal Assistant to Head Teacher, East Sussex
  • Kevin, 33, Music Teacher, Lanarkshire
  • Maisam, 18, Student & Sales Assistant, Greater Manchester
  • Maxy, 29, Architectural Assistant, London
  • Rebs, 23, Masters Student, County Antrim
  • Sandro, 30, Nanny, London
  • Syabira, 32, Cardiovascular Research Associate, London
  • Will, 45, Former Charity Director, London

Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith once again be judges in the Bake Off tent this year, along with hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding.

Once again we will see 10 episodes across 10 weeks on Channel 4, with the show also being broadcast in America on Netflix.
