  • One way traffic in the betting as Bake Off is odds on to land another NTA Award
  • Great British Sewing Bee could be the only opposition to unravel Bake Off's chances according to bookmakers
  • Betting Sites give little chance to Celebrity SAS and Love Island
From a betting perspective, The Great British Bake Off looks the best bet to pick up its 4th trophy at the 2021 National Television Awards with bookmakers offering only 1/2 odds and a 66% probability of scooping the honour.

With no I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in the Challenge show category in the NTA's it looks like betting sites think there is one way traffic to the award for The Great British Bake Off once again. At odds of just 1/2 the backing show is the shortest price bet to be had and looks the most assured award at the NTA's in 2021

The show is a 3-time winner at the awards, scooping this category twice and previous a 'Skills Challange Show' category in 2015.

Challenge Show NTA Betting Odds

Show Odds Probability
Great British Bake Off 1/2 66.66%
The Great British Sewing Bee 3/1 25%
Celebrity SAS 9/1 14.29%
Love Island 9/1 14.29%

**Probability percentage figures include bookmakers overround - odds correct at 6/9/2021

You can sometimes bet on the Great British Bake Off winner, but as the show is pre-recorded there is no betting during the series as the result will already be known.

The Only Competition

The Great British Sewing Bee looks to be the only challenge to Bake Off for the Challenge show award at the NTA's

Originally aired back in 2013 the show had a hiatus before returning with Joe Lycett on the BBC in 2019 as the presenter and has grown in popularity since.

More than 6 million viewers tuned in to the final episode aired on Wednesday 16th June 2021

With 6m viewers, The Great British Sewing Bee's popularity can not be discounted. Neither can the 3/1 chance offered by betting sites for winning the Best Challenge Show NTA on Thursday.

Love Island vs Celebrity SAS

The two other nominees for the Challenge show award are Celebrity SAS and Love Island - I'm not sure which would be the toughest to survive in all honestly.

Whilst both shows have huge fan bases neither can boast the broad appeal of the two favorites in the category and The Great British Bake Off looks set to cook up its fourth National television award this week.

The NTA's are voted for by the public and when comparing the final viewing figures to the betting odds, it is clear to see how the betting works

Show Viewing Figures for Last Final Episode
The Great British Bake Off 11.7m
The Great British Sewing Bee 6.6m
Love Island 4.5m
Celebrity SAS 3.8m
