2023 Winner
The 2023 Stirling prize winner was the John Morden Centre, at Moreden College.
The project aimed to consolidate various college functions—such as a medical centre, café, lounges, and administrative offices—into a single building. Mae, the designer, conceived a unique architectural solution that features a meandering timber 'spine' to seamlessly integrate the diverse spaces. This 'spine' connects several brick 'pavilions,' each dedicated to different care and enrichment programmes, creating a harmonious and cohesive environment.
2022 Winner
The 2022 Stirling Prize award was given to The New Library, Magdalene College in Cambridge by Níall McLaughlin Architects during last year's event in London.
The winning building was a library at the 700-year-old University of Cambridge that is open 24 hours a day with a massive archive and art gallery.
