The current Dundee United manager is former Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin, who signed a short team deal at Tannadice in January 2023 and replaced Liam Fox. In May 2023, with the club relegated from the SPL, Goodwin signed a two-year contract with the Terrors. He became the 21st Dundee United manager (permanent and caretaker) since 2000 and the 45th manager since the first appointee in 1909. The leading bookmakers will have all the next Dundee United manager odds if another change comes.

There are instances when these odds might not be readily available for certain clubs. This could be because the position has only recently been filled, the club is currently performing exceptionally well, or the club has a strong history of standing by its manager through thick and thin.

Additionally, in some cases, the Dundee United manager's position might be vacant, but there are strong indications or even rumours about the potential replacement. Despite these unique circumstances, it is worth noting that if betting odds do become available, we will present them here in this section for your convenience. Regular updates related to the manager's position can also be found in the dedicated sports betting news section expertly managed by Jake Ashton. Who Will Be The Next Dundee United Manager

A list of the potential candidates should the job become available today based on previous people appearing in the betting odds when the position was vacant last time, to others who have a profile that would fit the club in terms of the last few managers they have had.

Craig Levein

Craig Levein has now been manager of eight sides, including Dundee United (2006 -2009) and the Scotland National team (2009-2012). After a three-year hiatus from football management, he returned to manage St Johnstone in November 2023..

Duncan Ferguson

Old boy Duncan Ferguson spent three fruitful years at Tannadice, scoring 28 goals in 77 appearances before moving on to Glasgow Rangers. The fiery former striker was strongly supported (4/6) for The Dundee United position ahead of Jim Goodwin's appointment. Ferguson has dipped his toes in football management, spending time as an assistant and interim manager at Everton before taking on his first full-time position as boss of Forest Green Rovers. That position went poorly, and Ferguson returned to Scotland, not to the Terrors, but to take the manager's job at Inverness Caledonian Thistle in September 2023.

Malky Mackay

At odds of 16/1, Malky Mackay was, it seems, being considered for the Dundee United vacancy when Jack Ross left the club. The former Watford, Cardiff and Wigan Athletic manager had returned to Scotland and, at the time, was in charge at Ross County.

Michael O'Neil

In his second spell as manager of Northern Ireland Michael O'Neil will at some time return to club management The former Stoke City boss last managed a Scottish club way back in 2008 when he took charge at Brechin City.

Charlie Mulgrew

Scottish International Charlie Mulgrew played for the Terrors at the back end of his career in (2021-2023) Presumably, his name was in the frame for the United job because of this spell, but it would be a big step because it would be his first position in football management.

Stevie Crawford

Crawford left Dundee United after the appointment of Jim Goodwin, he had worked as assistant manager to Liam Fox during the 6 months that Fox was in charge. Prior to this had managed East Fife and Dunfermline without pulling up any trees. In 2022 he took charge of East of Scotland First Division side Rosyth FC.

John Hughes

If Dundee United felt they needed an experienced manager then John Hughes would fit the bill. He has been in charge of 7 Scottish clubs, Falkirk, Hibernian, Livingston, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Raith Rovers, Ross County, and Dunfermline Athletic, and made one foray south of the border in 2012 to manage Hartlepool United.
