2024 EuroLeague Preview
The EuroLeague was established back in 1957 and originally went under the FIBA European Champions Cup name for the first thirty years of the tournament, it has been known as the EuroLeague since 2000.
The popularity of the league makes it the most popular basketball league outside of the NBA, during the 2023-24 season games averaged 10,383 attendances, the highest indoor sport average attendance outside of the US.
We head into the 2024-25 season with Panathinaikos as the reigning champions after having won their seventh title last year, their first since 2011 during a dominant reign by the Greek clubs.
There used to be plenty of back-to-back winners, however, since 2015 that has only happened once (Anadolu Efes 2021 & 2022) so Panathinaikos will have their work cut out to back up their championship.
Paris has been promoted to the EuroLeague for this new season, replacing Valencia who were relegated to the EuroCup.
