My goal is to bring back a sense of the happy and the fun, and the family atmosphere, that this show has always felt like for me. I want to become friends with all of the contestants this year and allow myself to kind of be able to really just sit and talk with them.
Dancing with the Stars Format
The show brings together dancing couples, a celebrity and a professional dancer.
Derek Hough
The Latin and Ballroom dancer has accompanied six celebrities to the Dancing with the Stars trophy, he holds the record for the greatest number of wins.
The celebrity could be a sports star, a film or movie star or a TV personality.
Once paired up the Dancing with the Stars couples perform each week under the scrutiny of a panel of judges, viewers then vote for the couples with the pair with the fewest combined votes being eliminated.
These eliminations continue each week until one couple is crowned DWTS champions.

Bruno Tonoli, Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Len Goodman look likely to be back for the new series.
