This looks like a very high-class renewal of the Lockinge, and I think the Classic form from last season will prevail. Rosallion hasn't been seen since his scintillating victory in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. Notable Speech clearly didn't show his best that day, so it probably would be a mistake to read that form too literally. However, the selection looked a proper horse that day. Richard Hannon's team have been in fine form, and this could top a memorable week for them.

This could be an excellent afternoon for Ryan Moore with another winner here. He had some top-class form in Group company last season and won easily at Sandown on his last run. If Rosallion underperforms, he could well be the one to benefit.

Notable Speech won the 2000 Guineas last year. If things fall right for him tomorrow, he will prove to be the best horse in the race.

Consistent 3yo filly last season. She made a reasonable reappearance at the end of last month where she was runner-up to Dancing Gemini, who she re-opposes today. The Soldier Hollow filly had to give weight to the winner that day but now has a 5lb swing in her favor. This should give her the opportunity to turn the tables and kick-start her 4yo career by winning the Lockinge and adding another GP 1 to her CV.

Smart filly who won the Irish Guineas last year. Has to overcome a long break, but runners from this yard are often ready first time out. Strong player.
