I thinktrainer Peter Fahy is somewhat overlooked at times & it seems looking at the current prices so are the chances of his 11 year old Veteran Gelding HISTORY OF FASHION who takes a big drop back in class here In this contest. This Son of MUSTAMEET had a very eventful race in the Eider @Newcastle (33f Good/Soft) back in February where despite constantly jumping to his right & Getting Hampered this old boy was still plugging away making headway before being bumped into 5 from the lollypop & still looked to be in the prize money picture before running out 2 from home. This lad drops in trip (by 2f) & weight (2lbs) & will certainly prefer running right here (is 0-3 running left) & this current going (Yielding) will suit. Interesting is that Conditional (Harry Sexton) is jocked off for pro Sean Flanagan who has a 25% place strike rate here @Punchestown the past 5 years. Yard arrive here in form too, The Irish National was the original target for this charge & it could be a blessing that he missed out. 25/1 with 6 places to aim for, I'm happy enough for this Old boy to carry my Each Way Pennies.

The form of his last time out in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham has been well franked with the winners of the Irish National, the first and second in the Scottish National, and the winner of last Saturday's Bet365 all having run in that race. He has been dropped 4lb by the handicapper for that run. Usually a decent jumper, I think he looks a fair each-way bet, especially if you can get the extra places.

Back down to the mark he ran off in this race last season. Coming into this race off the back of a solid run last time out. He ran a cracker in this race last season. Beaten just a neck by the winner, The Gradual Slope. He was giving 17 lbs in weight to the winner. They both pulled a good 8L clear of the 3rd horse also. He's run 2 crackers so far this season. He finished 2nd in the Scottish Borders National at Kelso behind Bretney. Beaten 10L by the winner albeit. Maybe found that trip a tad too far. He ran a cracker on his most recent run. Beaten just 1/2L by stablemate Cadell, back in 2nd place. He was giving 3 lbs in weight to his stablemate there. He was sporting a first-time visor too, which could have prompted the return to form. The visor is left on again. He gets his ground here. If he runs a similar race to last season, I think he should go close.

Answer to Kayf: no real race at Cheltenham, but he has also gone down in weight and was mostly spared. He is a threat on previous form.

Hard to be totally confident of a horse who has fallen and been brought down on his last two starts, as you never know what mental damage is done, but was in with a chance of hitting the frame of the NH Chase at Cheltenham and anyone who follows me here knows I've been banging on about that ever since. It has thrown up Irish and Scottish National winners and best of all a mighty punt for me in the Bet365 at Sandown last week. Yard have had a few run well here this week already and with a clear round will go very close for me. Mind you might unseat and add to the alphabet form but on best form looks a player. Richie McLernon is riding as well as ever this week and has already had a winner and two seconds at the meeting and is unbeaten in two rides in this fella. Last chance saloon but with a clear run I think he wins as looks as if this trip will suit and was unlucky last time at Ayr to be brought down.

There was more than a little bit of encouragement from this horse last time out. That suggested to me that the horse had been trained with this race in mind and why not? It won the race last year off a mark just three pounds lower. Looks to have aimed at this race all year.

This one's last win came here over 4f shorter off 119. The stable has been among the winners here, and the jockey has been getting plenty of winners elsewhere. This one could be a good E/W bet if this trip suits, as he ran well in the Midlands National over 34f last time.

Hurdles winner but still to score over fences. Ran really well on handicap debut last time. Off a low weight today, trip will suit.

Brandt's last two races were non-events, jumping poorly two back and then pulling at Ayr. His ability is there and is tumbling down the weights.

Gordon Elliott's Duffle Coat will find the going more to his liking in this almost four-mile handicap chase after pulling up on testing ground in the Irish National 12 days ago. A five-time winner, I reckon this 8-y-o has a great chance of a frame finish here under a very capable 5lb claimer.

Outside The Door, course winner who goes well over these stamina-sapping trips and will relish the quicker ground. Not far behind History Of Fashion and Another Choice here in October, and with rider's claims considered, is weighted to reverse the form. If he finishes in front of those two today, then he will be very close at least. Looks good EW value at 28/1 with 6 place payout.

Dreaming Blue will try this longer distance for the first time. Traveling over from England for trainer Anthony Honeyball, who has a 20% win strike here and had a placed horse here yesterday. This horse has three races in 2024, the latest at Ludlow. Sporting a first-time visor, he's of interest having this stamina test.
