Was very disappointing on seasonal debut at Carlisle especially as was sent off 3-1 fav but that handicap hurdle looks a hot race now as the winner Hartington plus the also rans Siog Gael, Faivoir & Nurse Susan have all boosted the form since. Should strip fitter now and worth another chance for yard still in fair form. Won maiden hurdle and on handicap debut earlier in the year and proved this trip will suit and handles plenty of dig in the ground. Plenty of those at the head of the market lack real soft ground form and I really like this one's profile if you can forgive last time out flop. This represents a drop in grade anyway and looks a cracking EW punt.

I'm shocked is closer to favourite here as to my eye has very smart maiden hurdle form on offer after chasing home the likes of two decent looking sorts in Idaho Sun & Soldier Reeves who have enhanced the form since. Under rules only real flop was in a hot Aintree bumper but that race has thrown up the winners of 10 races since and on further evidence now, the good ground and flat track probably didn't suit. That last statement is mad given this one's flat pedigree but a stiffer test here on softer ground could actually bring out some more improvement given visual evidence so far. Winning pointer and even chased home the decent Gentleman Toboot in that sphere so all in all looks a bombproof EW banker here. Yard in cracking form and in form jockey an eyecatching booking too and given goes well at stiff tracks like Fontwell & Cheltenham should relish this test today. Must go close stepping up in trip.

Beat the subsequently smart mare Sunset Marquesa on hurdles debut last season by a whopping 13l and though hasn't won since has some fair form in the book now. Was 5th on seasonal debut in a competitive Cheltenham handicap and looked the likely winner at one stage, but probably didn't stay there and appreciated the drop back to 2m next time. Caught the eye again travelling well before getting collared by a fair mare last time and was miles clear of the third too m, so hopefully arrives here primed to run a big race now. Lightly enough raced and though flatter tracks seem to suit will like the soft ground and could have much more to offer this season. Travels sweetly and is a cracking EW play with the 5 places on offer.

Won well on chase debut here over C&D on good ground before running another cracker in a Grade 2 Novice Chase at Newbury behind the strong staying Wendigo and in front of the smart Regent's Stroll who has impressed since too. Was a smart novice hurdler and bar two average runs at big spring festivals is 5/8 in all other career starts. Very lightly raced for a 7yo and looks a very good jumper who should go well today. Handles soft ground and yard in cracking form with 11 winners and plenty of places from 39 runners in the month of December. This is a good race to be fair but looks a worthy favourite and though Jax Junior is respected and worth a saver must go very close.

Good novice hurdler who won three times last season including when bolting up at this track at the beginning of the year and has taken well to fences this season. Bumped into Steel Ally's smart stablemate Lump Sum on chase and seasonal debut before bolting up again last time at Kempton. Hammered Jeriko Du Reponet there who has chased home Regent's Stroll since and in tenuous weights & measures should give the favourite most to do given form links. Better ground would suit but dangerous to dismiss and worth the saver and forecast with the fav.
