Abbotsford could have won last time but decided he didn't want to put his head down on the line. He dwelt at the start and ran a little green. The son of Frankel has since been gelded. (Noted as a non-runner-off feed-10 days ago.) This QR race sees Finian, son of Adrian Maguire, in the saddle. (Won QR races for Weld in 2020 and 2021 here.) Weld holds this race dear, and the families are well connected in it. The 3yo looks perfectly placed today. It's very hard to see him regress from his last run, which he would have to do if he's not to win. 3/1 may look a short price in this big field, but it could prove to be a long price come the finish.
