Which golf tournaments do you cover picks on ?
There are numerous knowledgeable golf handicappers on OLBG who provide free golf betting picks on major tours. The PGA Tour events generally attract the most interest from OLBG's army of golf experts so expect to see plenty of PGA Tour golf picks for this weekend and pretty much throughout the year from early January with the Sentry Tournament of Champions picks right through to the Hero World Challenge picks in December.
The DP World Tour (formerly known as the European Tour) is also popular with many experts, particularly those European based with events taking place across Europe, Asia, and Africa so there will be plenty of DP World Tour golf picks today and right through the year starting with the Asian swing and concluding with South Africa's Joburg Open picks in November.
You can also expect to see LPGA Tour picks for the Ladies Professional Golf Tour, Champions Tour picks covering the Seniors tour and events from the Korn Ferry Tour included in the free golf picks this weekend.
Not forgetting the major golf events as these always attract a strong betting interest and a particularly large volume of free golf picks nearer tournament time so expect to see here on OLBG:
Our knowledgeable golf handicappers also have the men's and ladies team events covered for you when they come around biannually so don't forget to look out for free Ryder Cup Picks and the free Solheim Cup Picks around September time. These team events again attract strong interest with betting available on each session every day so we will have fourballs picks, foursomes picks and Ryder Cup singles pick in addition to the Ryder Cup winner picks, Top Rookie picks, Ryder Cup Winning Score picks, and many more.
When will you have Golf betting picks ?
The free Golf picks are provided by OLBG's army of knowledgeable golf handicappers who add their golf selections for the main tour events on a weekly basis so expect to see free golf picks throughout the year with at least one of the main professional golf tours covering each calendar month.
For example, the PGA Tour season and FedEx Cup point scoring start in mid-September on the West Coast prior to moving on to Las Vegas in October and then various locations concluding with the Hero World Challenge and QBE Shootout before the Christmas break.
The season ramps up a notch from the first week of the new year with the Champions tournament in Hawaii and then weekly tournaments quickly lead us to the Players Championship at Sawgrass in March and the first major of the season, the Masters from Augusta in early April. The major tournaments continue through early summer and the PGA Tour season and FedEx Cup draws to a close with the playoff series culminating with the Tour Championship in August.
So as you can see just the PGA Tour alone has events in each calendar month which our golf handicappers will cover for you with their free golf selections right through the year so be sure to check the golf picks page every week.
Free Golf Picks Today
Above you can see the most popular free golf predictions on OLBG today for the upcoming golf tournaments. Under the "Tournaments" tab you will see predictions for a variety of golf betting tournament markets including:
- Tournament Outright Winner
This prediction is for the golfer to win the tournament, it can be a "Win" bet so the golfer has to win the event or it may be an "Each Way" selection which means the golfer can usually finish in the top 5 to 8 places and a partial payout will result. The place terms can vary from tournament to tournament for "Each Way" betting, which may be a 1/4 or 1/5 of the odds for the "place" element of the odds, and sportsbooks may offer up to 8 or even 10 places for the big tournaments like the Masters and the US Open. The place terms are available and displayed by the sportsbooks along with the respective odds markets before placing your wager so be sure to check you are happy before finalizing any bets.
- First Round Leader
Similar to the Outright Tournament Winner betting market only this time picks are for the golfer leading after Round 1 has been completed, selections again can be placed to "Win" or "Each Way". The Each Way bet usually covers the first 4 places with sportsbooks but the number of places on offer may vary so best to check before placing any wagers.
- 72 Hole Match Bets (for example, Woods v McIlroy)
In this bet you are simply betting on which player finishes ahead of the other, it does not matter if either does not win the tournament or both miss the cut it is simply who finished in the better ranking for the tournament.
- 72 Hole Group Betting
This works similar to the 72 Hole Match Bets, however rather than just a two player head to head match bet the group betting will usually feature four or five golfers in the group but we are still betting on which golfer will complete the tournament with the best ranking of the group.
- Top American
As the title suggests this betting market solely focuses on players from the USA, similarly you may also find Top European and Top GB & Ireland betting markets for players from those locations. You are still simply betting on which golfer you feel will finish the tournament with the best ranking, again they do not have to win the whole tournament they just need to finish in the best position out of the players quoted in this betting market. Each Way betting is usually available in the Top American betting markets, especially for the PGA Tour events but it may not always be the case depending on the number of players taking part.
The selection odds are also shown for example +900 (10.0 decimal odds) along with the number of picks received against the total number of picks on available outcomes in the betting market which gives the confidence percentage figure. If you click on the "picks and comments" tab on the navigation menu the predictions will sort by volume in ascending or descending order.
The Value Rating column indicates a 1 to 5-star value wager, 5 stars being the best. The Value Rating is calculated by comparing the % of picks against the total number, the odds of a selection, and the theoretical chances of winning. If the pick % is higher than the theoretical chances of winning according to the odds, that is a sign that the selection could offer a value wager. Click the Value Rating column tab to sort selections by the number of stars.
