We touched on this area in our US Masters Betting Guide and although we are talking about different courses for the US Open as opposed to solely Augusta for the Masters, what is evident when looking at some of the past US Open winners (between 2015 & 2019) scoring stats is they were all ranked in the top 5 for 'Greens in Regulation' (GIR) when winning their US Open.
Other key scoring areas like putting, birdies, eagles, driving distance etc saw some winners rank well however the persistent statistic for winners ranking highly was 'Greens In Regulation'.
