September is expected to be a warm one with an Iberian jet stream set to see temperatures soar across the UK in the. coming days after a mixed weekend of weather saw patchy weather to kick-off the month.
The latest weather maps from Netweather suggest a warm week on the way with temperatures expected to hit 30c and over in the next week with the chance of high pressure heading into the south.

What the expert says...
September record temperature set all the way back in 1906
If we go by month-to-month all-time records for highest daily maximum temperature then September actually has the oldest standing record with 35.6C recorded back in 1906.
2 September 1906 saw the highest temperature in that month ever in Bawtry, Helsley Hall in South Yorkshire according to research from the Met Office.
That Met Office table though does say that there are "some reservations about the record value quoted" with the recording information completely different now to over 100 years ago.

Further specials look at the chances of a White Christmas this year
Snowy days could soon be upon us with OLBG also looking at the chances of a White Christmas later this year and last December we saw a White Christmas confirmed.
The Met Office defines a White Christmas as at least one snowflake falling on December 25 and that officially happened across parts of Scotland with Tulloch Bridge and Aviemore seeing snow fall.
This year could see more of the same with the latest odds from OLBG's industry expert at 6/4 meaning there's now a 40% chance that we have a White Christmas in 2024.
