Wham! now lead the betting odds to have this year's Christmas Number One
2024's Christmas Number One will be announced tomorrow, Friday 20 December, with Wham! now as short as 1/12 with UK Betting Sites to top the charts for the festive period.
Wham! scored their first Christmas Number One last year with classic hit Last Christmas finally securing top spot 39 years after it was released.
Now on the song's 40th anniversary it looks increasingly likely that the song will lead the charts for Christmas this year with no real contender in the latest betting market.
William Hill's latest odds has Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers as the 9/1 second favourites to top the festive charts followed by Gracie Abrams.
Those odds now give an implied probability of 92.3% that Wham! land back-to-back Christmas Number One's with it looking increasingly likely that they will top the charts again.
Christmas Number One 2024 | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Wham! | 1/12 | 92.3% |
Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers | 9/1 | 10.0% |
Gracie Abrams | 25/1 | 3.8% |

With Christmas falling next Wednesday the winner will be announced tomorrow
This year's race for Christmas Number One is taking place this week with all sales and streams counting up until midnight tonight (Thursday December 19).
Wham! hit the top spot last week with the build-up to Christmas already happening and the latest update put Gracie Abrams just behind the 80s band.
With Sir Starmer and the Granny Harmers #1 in the iTunes chart that is why their song Freezing This Christmas sits as the 9/1 second favourite in the market.
