Liz Truss remains favourite to be next leader of the Conservative Party
Liz Truss is still the favourite to take over as the next leader of the Conservative Party, coming into 1/2 from the evens that she was at 5 days ago.
Rishi Sunak is 13/8 to be the next leader and the next few days will make for a clearer picture after the TV debates take place.
Sunak has also accepted to appear on Channel 4 news later on Monday evening, but Truss has so far declined to take part.
There will also be a TV debate live on Sky News at some point, although the date for that has yet to be set.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson will step down from role with specials up for his next position
Boris Johnson is leaving his role as Prime Minister with his expected departure date still set for September this year.
Bookmakers give odds of 7/1 that Johnson appears on Strictly Come Dancing either this year or next, with odds dropping from 40/1 earlier this month.
Betway have a load of specials around TV appearances for Johnson in 2022 and 2023 with Grand Designs leading the way at 5/2.
It's expected that he won't stay in the cabinet going forward no matter who ends up winning the vote to be next Conservative leader.
