Luke Littler's Young Sports Personality of the Year nomination all but rules him out for main award

Betting markets had changed right around for the 2024 Sports Personality of the Year award with Luke Littler shortening into 9/2 with UK Betting Sites but now that looks to have all changed.

Littler has been nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year which all but ends any hopes he will have had of winning the main award with Keely Hodgkinson now having no real contender in the market.

The 17-year-old Darts sensation remains second favourite with Bet365 for the SPOTY award in the latest odds but it's now likely that he won't be part of the nominees announced now he's up for the Young SPOTY award.

Littler is up against Skateboarder Sky Brown and Para-swimmer Willian Ellard for the award and is expected to win after a massive year for the Darts player which saw him become a household name.

Keely Hodgkinson 1/5 to win Sports Personality of the Year

Olympian Keely Hodgkinson is now as short as 1/5 to win this year's Sports Personality of the Year award after a stunning year saw her win 800m Gold in Paris.

It's expected that we'll see several Olympians make the nominee shortlist for the award this year after a massive Summer in Paris and Hodgkinson was the most popular name for Great Britain at the event.

The betting odds for Hodgkinson to win the SPOTY award are now at the shortest she has been yet with bookies making her just 1/5 to lift the prestigious award later this month.
