American author James McBride is the current 3/1 favourite with bookmakers to win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction as OLBG look at the full contenders in the market.

McBride leads the way for his book 'The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store' which already gained massive plaudits with Barnes & Noble and Amazon naming it as their Book of the Year.

The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store has continued to impress since its release back in August last year and it could well be that it becomes a Pulitzer Prize winner this year.

Bookies say there's a 25% chance that McBride wins the Pulitzer Prize with the writer currently 3/1 at the top of the ever-changing betting market.

Ann Patchett is just behind McBride in the betting market with the latest odds suggesting a 20% implied probability that she wins the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

The American author released her latest novel at the start of August 2023 and it instantly went into number one on The New York Times fiction best-seller list.

A constant stream of positive reviews followed the release of the book and it looks likely that it'll be a contender for the Pulitzer Prize this year.
