Fixtures announcement sees a big opening weekend in the Premier League

Premier League fixtures announcement day is always a big one on the calendar of any football fan, with the excitement starting to ramp up ahead of the new season.

Bookmakers have wasted no time in getting odds up for the opening weekend's fixtures, including Scott Parker's Bournemouth side at 2/1 to beat Aston Villa.

Last year's Championship Champions Fulham have a tough first game up against Liverpool and are 15/2 to win their opening match.

The opening fixtures of the season are:

  • Crystal Palace v Arsenal - Friday 5th August
  • Fulham v Liverpool - Saturday 6th August
  • Bournemouth v Aston Villa - Saturday 6th August
  • Leeds v Wolves - Saturday 6th August
  • Leicester v Brentford - Saturday 6th August
  • Newcastle v Nottingham Forest - Saturday 6th August
  • Tottenham v Southampton - Saturday 6th August
  • Everton v Chelsea - Saturday 6th August
  • Manchester United v Brighton - Sunday 7th August
  • West Ham v Manchester City - Sunday 7th August

Bournemouth are the only promoted side who will kick off the season at home, up against Aston Villa on the opening Saturday of the season. They're 2/1 to get their season off to a flyer against Villa with a win.
