How do I pick the best football accumulators?

There are two main ways to pick the best footy accas.

One way is to be an outstanding judge of value football selections, in which case all you need to do is make sure you are either getting the best odds on your bets each week or getting the best football offers.

Alternatively, if you aren't such a good judge at picking winning football coupons, you need to find the best tips. The majority of punters won't be good judges - this is why bookmakers make plenty of profit.

Where can I find free football accumulator tips?

There are a lot of very good tipsters on OLBG, so we've made it easy to find the best tips to put in your football accumulators

The one thing that is better than one very good football tipster giving a tip is several very good football tipsters offering that same tip.

What are the advantages of football accumulators?

Football accumulators are a way of winning large amounts from small stakes.

A punter can bet just a couple of pounds and win a small fortune in just one afternoon from a multiple bet on football.

Some punters can ensure they live the rest of their lives in betting profit just by landing one football acca.

Football accumulators also offer the casual punter a lot of fun and interest.

Not everyone is interested in every lower league or foreign match but by placing a football acca you can have an interest in lots of games over a weekend.

They are great fun if you are sitting in front of the TV on a Saturday afternoon or in the pub, especially if you have taken advantage of any free bet offers.

Who are the best bookies for football accumulators?

Your football acca odds can vary greatly depending on which bookie you place your bet with, meaning it is essential to shop around for the best odds and to hold accounts with as many bookies as possible.

Anyone who is looking specifically for the best football odds available on football accumulators should sign up with BetVictor.

For the past five years, BetVictor's football coupons have offered the best football odds across a range of leagues, as verified by our monthly football odds comparison.

Odds were sampled for the main market for all popular events where all bookies had odds available to determine if a bookmaker had outright or joint best odds.

Which bookies offer Acca Insurance?

Acca Insurance gives punters their stake back as a free bet when one team lets their footy acca down.

This feature has become increasingly popular with bookies over the last few years, with many bookmakers now offering acca insurance.

We have spent hours looking at every bookmaker and have a complete guide to the best acca insurance offers.

What is Acca Edge?

Acca Edge is an option offered by Betfair.

It applies to accas (three or more selections) on any sports, and if you choose to accept Acca Edge, you will receive a slight reduction in odds in exchange for money back as CASH if the bet is let down by just one selection.

For full details of this and other acca promotions that are slightly different from acca insurance, we have analysed every bookmaker to come up with a definitive list of the best bookmakers for football accumulators.

What other football acca bonuses are there?

Free Bet Clubs

Betway currently heads the list of bookies offering the best free bet clubs. With them, you do not have to change your betting habits, especially if you make regular weekend football accumulators.

They consistently come out top of our best free bet club guide.

Euro Soccer Bonus

Bet365 have a specific promotion for Euro Soccer Accumulators. The bigger your win, the bigger the bonus

How much can I win from football accumulators?

All bookies have maximum payouts which vary depending on the sport and the quality of the event you are betting on.

The bigger bookies tend to pay out at least £1m on football multiple bets, or all football bets for that matter.

It's important to always check your potential payouts before placing your bet. You might be including selections that send you over the maximum payout - increasing the chances your bet doesn't win for no extra reward.

Also, you might be placing bets where you are going to potentially miss out on thousands of Pounds in winnings so if you are betting high stakes or high odds stick to some of the bookies that have the biggest payout limits.

These are the maximum payouts from some of the most highly recommended bookies:

  • Bet365 pays out up to £2,000,000 for all Men's full International matches and English Premier League, Championship, League 1, League 2, FA Cup, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga I, Ligue 1, Champions League and Europa League. If you include selections containing matches from other competitions, you can win no more than £500,000 from your bet.

  • William Hill pay out up to £2,000,000 000 for all Men's full International matches between two members of UEFA, English Premier League, Championship, League 1, League 2, FA Cup, English and Scottish League Cups, Scottish Premier League La Liga Champions League & Europa League (group stage onwards only) on match betting and outright markets only. Other markets on those competitions will be capped at no more than £500,000, and match betting, and outright markets on those competitions will be capped at no more than £1,000,000.

  • Betfair Sportsbook pays out up to £1,000,000 on all the same competitions as Bet365's maximum payout for match betting and outright markets only. Other markets and other competitions are capped at no more than £500,000.

  • Paddy Power pays out up to £1,000,000 on all the same competitions as Bet365's maximum payout for match betting, total goals, correct score, 1st scorer, Asian handicaps and handicap betting markets. Other markets in those competitions are restricted to a £100,000 maximum payout, those markets in other competitions are limited to £50,000 and other markets in other competitions are restricted to £10,000.

  • Ladbrokes pay out up to £1,000,000 on all the same competitions as Bet365's maximum payout, plus they include the Scottish Premier League on their list of competitions. If you include selections containing matches from other competitions, you can win no more than £500,000 from your bet.

  • Coral pays out up to £1,000,000 on all the same competitions as Bet365's maximum payout, plus they include the Conference National division, English and Scottish League Cups and the top 4 Scottish divisions. If you include selections containing selections from other competitions, you can win no more than £250,000 from your bet.

  • SkyBet pays out up to £500,000 on all of the same competitions that Bet365 pay out £2m on, plus they include the MLS in their list of competitions. All other competitions are restricted to £250,000.

  • BetVictor pays out up to £500,000 on all the same competitions as Bet365's maximum payout. If you include selections containing matches from other competitions, you can win no more than £100,000.

Clicking any of the bookmaker names above will take you to their dedicated OLBG review page, you can then check the latest free bet offers, how to open an account, banking options, pros and cons of their service and so much more.

How many teams should I include in my footy accumulator?

The more teams you include in your bets, the more risk you take, but the higher the payout will be if your bet is successful.

Likewise, only including a few teams in your bet will limit your payouts unless they are outsiders.

Whatever your preference, it is best to include only teams deemed value selections

The term value describes a bet in which you perceive the odds to underestimate the chances of the selection. That means not necessarily including every team you think will win but also considering the odds on offer for each team.

The OLBG Acca Builder Tool can be handy for punters searching for value football accas. You can choose what sports are included in the acca, how many selections go into the acca, and when the bet takes place.

One-click later, you'll be presented with selections that match your criteria.

These are value selections picked by several expert tipsters on OLBG.

Please check out the OLBG Acca Builder Tool, to use it, you must be logged in to OLBG or subscribed to a free tips email.

Who are the best football accumulator tipsters?

Many websites, blogs, apps and social media profiles give football accumulator tips regularly and vary significantly in the quality of advice they provide.

Here on, hundreds of tipsters compete for monthly prizes, and only the tipsters with the very best records win those prizes.

Each tipster's record is clearly shown on their profile so anyone can see who the most profitable football tipsters are and who the most in-form football tipsters are.

Can I get football accumulator tips on Twitter?

Yes, there are loads of them - but who do you follow? Finding good tipsters on Twitter can be difficult because their records are not clearly advertised. You'll hear about every winner whilst long-losing runs are ignored. There are some excellent tipsters on Twitter, but they are much more difficult to find than the bad ones.

What bets can I include in football accumulators?

Both Teams To Score Accumulators

99% of football accounts for years consisted solely of 1x2 (win-draw-win) selections.

However, in recent years, the 'both teams to score' (or BTTS) bets have been just as popular, if not more popular.

Both Teams To Score Advice

The most popular selections in both teams to score accumulators are for Yes - both teams to score. The attraction of this bet is that both teams score more often than not, plus your bet always has a chance of winning, even if the game is still 0-0 with only a few minutes left.

There is also the option to include one of the teams to win in your BTTS bet.

This gives you plenty of betting options, with both teams to score or both teams not to score on either the home win, the draw, or the away win. Some of the biggest football accumulator wins have been gained with accas made up of these bets, as the odds on offer can often be quite generous.

Goals Galore Accas

Both teams to score first became popular when Betfred started producing their Goals Galore football coupon.

Goals Galore was simply the name for a coupon for both teams to score bets.

Betfred still offers their Goals Galore coupon, but it should be remembered that you can place both teams to score accumulators with all bookies, and there is no real difference between the two except for some slight variations in odds and special offers.

Other Popular Football Accumulator Markets

Other football markets that can often be included in weekly football accas include any time goalscorers and total goals.

An in-form striker against a weaker side will usually be a shade of odds on making it a strong contender to be included in an acca.

The total goals market is also popular, with under/over 2.5 goals being the most common market to get involved in.

Over 2.5 Goals Betting and Statistical History

Again, the odds are often fairly short (acca friendly) but are big enough to make them worth including in bets. Many other goal lines can be backed (1.5, 3.5, etc), but this will obviously impact the odds available.

Football markets such as first goalscorers and correct scores are popular with punters but don't tend to be included in accas as they are usually much more complicated to predict than outcomes in other markets.

This is reflected in the odds and certainly doesn't mean these markets can't offer value bets.

However, bets on these markets are usually best used in permed multiples rather than accumulators. With accumulators, you are always betting on your selections to win.

However, with permed multiples, you can cover as many permutations as you want - down to singles if you require. Just remember that the more selections you have, the more permutations there will be.

What is the Super Six?

Super Six can sometimes be confused with being a football acca but it is slightly different - in fact it's not technically a bet because it's free to play!

First of all you need to open a SkyBet account.

Then each week you need to predict the correct score in 6 selected matches - they'll usually be the 6 biggest games kicking off on Saturday at 3pm.

If one person correctly predicts all 6 scores they'll win a cool £250,000.

If there is more than one winner that prize is split between the winners.

If no one manages to get all of the scores right in the Super Six bet then the closest to it will win £5,000, not a bad consolation.

Since the Super Six is free to enter it makes sense to play the Super Six every week.

Not only can you win a lot of money but it also makes Soccer Saturday a lot more interesting!

If you don't already have a SkyBet account why not sign up now?

How do I calculate football acca odds?

Calculating footy accumulator odds can seem complicated and daunting but it is actually pretty easy.

Calculating Betting Odds To Help You Win More

The easiest way is to put all the selections into a betslip and let the bookies do it for you.

If you don't have that option then all you need is the calculator on your phone.

If the odds of each selection are in fractional form (1/2 for example) simply divide the first number by the second number and then add 1 in order to turn it into decimal odds.

Once all your selections are in decimal form just multiply them all together and you'll get your football accumulator odds.

If you then want to work out your footy acca winnings just multiply the total odds by your stake.

Should I cash out on my football acca?

Cashing out allows punters to profit from bets that will potentially lose which makes it extremely popular.

However, it has to be remembered that the odds offered for the cash out massively favour the bookies.

If you are wanting to cash out when several games are currently in play then using the bookie cash out is the only choice and is, therefore, a good option to use.

However, as the odds always favour the bookies with cash out you may want to use partial cash out if it's available.

That way you can ensure you don't lose any money from a bet, and maybe make a small profit, whilst still having the chance of a decent win on your original bet.

Almost all bookies offer cash out now, so luckily we check them regularly as they add new features like partial cash out and edit my bet, to see which bookie has the best cash out feature.

You can even use cash out for bets placed in play with some bookmakers.

Should I place Premier League football accumulators?

Because the English Premier League is so popular the majority of bets are concentrated on this league.

Value bets can always be found within Premier League accas but don't think that just because you know more about the Premier League than other leagues that you can always find an edge over the bookies.

Coverage and information on the Premier League is everywhere and you can be sure that the bookies also know more about the Premier League than any other league - and they probably know more about it than you too.

If you are picking your own football accumulator selections then it can be a good idea to specialise in the lower leagues or some foreign leagues where you can actually gain an edge over the bookies by gathering more information than they have.

This is an approach many of the tipsters on OLBG take.

Ante Post Football Accumulators

Ante-post is the term applied to bets on outright football markets before the season gets underway.

One of the most popular ante-post football accas is a bet on the winners of each of the Premier League, the Championship, League One and League Two.

Ante-post footie accas aren't only restricted to those markets though. Top goalscorer accumulators, relegation accumulator bets and promotion accas are all markets that are commonly involved in ante-post accas.

Major tournaments also lend themselves well to football accas.

At the European Championships or World Cup popular roll-up bets will be teams to qualify, teams not to qualify, top team goalscorers and of course group winners.

What are the best football accumulator apps?

There are many football accumulator apps available and more and more are released every day, but which ones do you trust?

OLBG has been around since 2002 and there are loads of great football tipsters on the site with transparent tipping records.

Thousands of expert tips can be found anytime, on the move, on the OLBG mobile app.

All the research is done for you and you can bet directly with bookies through the app. It's available for iOS and Android and can be downloaded here.

Click here to download the tips app.

Another good football app to have is the AccaTracker. It does exactly what it says on the tin, allowing you to keep track of how all the teams in your footy accas are performing throughout each match.

Football accumulators aren't the only popular sports acca out there - you can place an accumulator on any sport. Tennis is a sport that always lends itself to accas since you normally get lots of short-priced players in each round of matches.

American sports are also popular with punters these days so there has been an increase in the number of American football accas and basketball accas that are placed.

The most popular markets in American Football or Basketball betting tend to be the handicap markets. Both teams are given an equal chance in the odds to win the match with the favourite given a handicap. Each team will be slightly odds on.

When you put selections at those odds into your American football accas or basketball accumulator the acca odds are going to mount up quickly so you only need two or three selections in the acca for a decent win.

Any more selections than that and you are looking at really big odds!

Alternatively, subscribe to the weekly OLBG 100/1+ Multi-Sport Acca to get great tips at big prices every Saturday.

  • How do you win an accumulator?

You win an accumulator by making four or more selections that all win. In order to do so you need to research the most likely winning bets. Just picking winners though is only part of the picture, each bet you place (even in an accumulator) should be a value bet. A value bet is where the odds of the selection are perceived to be better than the chances of the selection winning. Combine four or more value bets into an accumulator and you have a value accumulator bet!

  • How do accumulator bets work?

Accumulator bet is simply a bet with four or more selections from unique events. The bet is that all four or more selections win. Bets with these than four selections would be called trebles (for three) doubles (for two) or singles (for one selection). When placing the bet with an online betting site, you bet that all selections will win.

  • Which sports can you place accumulators on?

Accumulator bets can be placed on all sports. Here at OLBG we offer accumulator tips on all the popular sports on a daily basis. Whether this be the racing acca, football acca or combined sports accas.

  • Can you really have accumulator tips?

Whilst a tip on one selection may be more likely to result in a win, yes of course you can have tips on multiple selections. These are less likely to all win but if they do then the odds are much greater. Here at OLBG we look at all our best tipsters tips and suggest accumulator bets each day on a range of sports and number of selections. Accumulator betting isn't the best way to bet if you are looking for consistent regular returns as the odds are higher than singles and the likelihood of winning more volatile. However many people enjoy placing acca tips as it gives them the chance to win big if all the selections win. Acca betting should really be looked at as a fun form of betting for entertainment. If you are going to place acca bets then using well reasoned tips from OLBG's consistently profitable tipsters is a good way to do so.

  • What are the most common mistakes with accumulator betting

    • Anchoring (Relying on your first piece of information when making subsequent decisions/selections).
    • Cashing Out.
    • Confirmation Bias (Recalling information that only backs up your original thought, and ignoring contrary evidence).
    • Disregarding recent form.
    • Favourite bias.
    • Going against historical statistics.
    • Ignoring changes to team selection.
    • Not taking into account injuries
    • Overlooking value selections.
    • Selecting too many teams or legs.
