  • Cheryl Cole is always linked with TV judging roles and is 4/1 second favourite to be on Pop Idol
  • Former Pop Idol judges Pete Waterman, Nicki Chapman and Neil Fox complete the betting market

Will Young 3/1 to be a judge on the reboot of Pop Idol

Pop Idol was one of the biggest Reality TV shows of the naughties, with well over 10 million viewers watching the live final of the show.

Will Young faced off against Gareth Gates in the final and it was Young who ended up winning the show with 53.1% of the public vote.

Young is now 3/1 to become a judge on the reboot of the show with the betting odds suggesting he'll be on the panel if it returns.

To Be A Judge on Pop Idol Reboot OLBG Odds Probability
Will Young 3/1 25.0%
Cheryl Cole 4/1 20.0%
Pete Waterman 6/1 14.3%
Nicki Chapman 8/1 11.1%
Neil 'Dr' Fox 16/1 5.9%

News of a reboot of Pop Idol started to do the rounds back in March with various newspapers stating that ITV had 'entered talks' about a refresh of the show.

Simon Cowell was a judge on the show but fully distanced himself from it after launching The X Factor after the series ended.

Will Young is the 3/1 OLBG Odds favourite to be one of the judges on the potential Pop Idol reboot. Young won the first series of the talent show and it would make sense for him to return to the show that helped create his career.

Cheryl Cole is 4/1 second favourite to be a Pop Idol Reboot judge!

Cheryl Cole is constantly linked with TV judging roles and is 4/1 second favourite to be a judge on Pop Idol if the reboot happens.

Cole was a popular judge on The X Factor with numerous series to her name and she may well be a key judge on Pop Idol, especially if Simon Cowell got involved.

ITV executives may well want to use stars that they have previous with and Cheryl would tick all the boxes for that.

Other popular ITV programmes include The Masked Singer, coincidentally won by Cheryl Cole's Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts in the opening series.

Former Pop Idol judges Pete Waterman, Nicki Chapman and Neil Fox complete the betting market

Pete Waterman, Nicki Chapman and Neil Fox were all judges on the original Pop Idol series and they're in the market to appear again on the show.

Chapman has stayed as a predominant figure on UK television, hosting hit shows Escape to the County and Wanted Down Under.

Pete Waterman was a massive name in the music industry back in the 80s and his record producing helped him be an expert judge.

He was last seen on British TV as part of The X Factor: Celebrity, being part of the audience for the auditions stage in Malibu.

Neil 'Dr' Fox has been the quietest of the former Pop Idol judges and that's shown by his 16/1 outsider shot at being a judge on the reboot.

Previous judges Nicki Chapman, Pete Waterman and Dr Fox all feature in the betting market to be judges on the reboot of Pop Idol.
