I've spent over 20 years inside the betting industry. I'll guide you to avoid the hype, ignore the noise, and steer clear of the common pitfalls that catch out everyday punters.

  • Poland is now 3/1 favourite with bookmakers to be next to leave Europe
  • Betting sites make Italy 2nd Favourites at 7/2
  • Between 11-13% Chance either Greece or Hungary will follow the UK out of the door

A short while ago Italy were the clear favourites with betting sites to be the next country after the UK to make the exit decision and leave Europe, but Poland have shot to the top of the betting.

Poland's prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki has made an unprecedented challenge to one of the European Union's core principles, to which the EU has stated that Poland will not go unpunished.

This could further drive a wedge and expedite Poland's position of remaining in the EU

Next Country to Leave the EU Betting Odds

Country Odds Probability
Poland 3/1 25%
Italy 7/2 22.22%
Greece 6/1 14.29%
Hungary 13/2 13.33%
France 8/1 11.11%
Czech Republic
12/1 7.69

Greece or Hungary Next?

Greece was once the favourites in the betting to leave the EU but the position has changed with more realistic possibilities coming from Poland and Italy

For Greece the idea is that it would be better off if it departed the euro and reinstituted the drachma, since doing so would significantly improve exports and tourism while also deterring costly imports, giving the Greek economy the opportunity to recover and stand on its own feet.

The critics argue that the plan would cause excessive suffering for the Greek people, since short-term effects would be a large consumption and wealth reduction. This might result in Greece's fall into anarchy and damage the eurozone's reputation. It may also lead Greece to align itself more with non-EU nations.

Hungary

Next in the betting come Hungary. The drive is being led by the biggest news outlet in the country which will have an effect.

They currently are given a 11% chance of being the next in the race to Leave the European Union. The question, without the race, is the chance of Hungary at some point leaving the EU even higher? probably

The government's most important news source is openly discussing Hungary's withdrawal from the European Union. It is a situation without precedent and can whip up support from the people.
