Oscar-nominated director Edward Berger is now the 11/8 favourite with UK Betting Sites to direct the next James Bond movie following reports that he is in contention for the role.
World Of Reel's report from July states that Berger is in contention to direct the next Bond film but the movie is still a number of years away.
Previous names linked with the director role include Danny Boyle, Matthew Vaughn and Christopher Nolan but it may be that the door is now open for Berger to step into directing the film.
The German director's last movie was "All Quiet on the Western Front" which earned 9 nominations and 4 wins including Best International Film.
William Hill's latest betting market puts him clear of the rest to be chosen as the next Bond director with odds of 11/8 giving him an implied probability of 42.1% to do so.

Former favourite Christopher Nolan drifts in the betting odds
Christopher Nolan had previously been the clear favourite to direct Bond next with many expecting him to take the role but that now seems unlikely to happen.
Those same World Of Reel reports say that Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has "given up" on the idea of hiring Nolan with more control needed on the creative direction.
Nolan would want total freedom to do what he wants with the franchise and that would not be the case, leaving the door open for another director to step in.

Chappell Roan has moved into favourite to direct the next James Bond movie after her rapid rise in popularity in recent months.
The 'Hot To Go' singer has become one of the biggest names in pop music after a breakthrough 2024 and now sits at the top of the market to sing the next Bond theme.
Paddy Power have recognised her popularity and put Roan as the favourite in the market with a 38.1% chance given according to the betting odds.
