Gavin and Stacey's final show airs later this year with odds offered on what will happen

The final ever episode of Gavin and Stacey has now wrapped up filming and we look at the latest odds offered on various outcomes that could happen on the final outing for Gavin, Stacey and the rest of the characters on the show.

Last time the show aired was back in 2019 and ended on a cliffhanger with Nessa shown proposing to Smithy on Barry Island with no answer given before cutting to the credits.

Leading the way in the betting market sees a 66% chance given that Smithy says yes to Nessa's proposal and a positive beggining to the final episode is shown with James Corden's character accepting Ruth Jones' offer.

Other outcomes to the market look interesting though including finally finding out what happened to Bryn on THAT fishing trip.

Show returns five years on from the last special which aired Christmas 2019

The last episode of Gavin and Stacey aired on the BBC on Christmas Day in 2019 with series coming back after a nine-year break.

That special five years ago saw 17.1 million viewers watch on the BBC with 11.6m of them linear viewers which made it the biggest show on television for over a decade.

Gavin and Stacey's 2019 return beat the Queen's Speech and it would be no surprise to see the King's Speech this year get less viewers than the hit television show.

Christmas Special features in the market to be the most viewed show on Christmas Day this year

Gavin and Stacey's Christmas Special this year is just slightly behind the King's Speech when it comes to the latest odds to be the most viewed show on Christmas Day.

The King as always will address the nation on December 25 with his speech and usually this is the most watched programme on television on that day.

This could change this year though with Gavin and Stacey's Christmas Special also moving into odds-on just behind the King to be the most watched show with just a 1.5% difference in probability.
