Baldur's Gate 3 is the 1/9 favourite to win the Game of the Year award

Baldur's Gate 3 leads the way in the betting for Game of the Year at tonight's The Game Awards live from Los Angeles with bookmakers offering odds on the main category.

The latest betting odds say that there's a 90% chance that Baldur's Gate 3 wins the prestigious award this evening with the market suggesting that it's all but done in terms of competitiveness.

American games website GameSpot awarded Baldur's Gate 3 its own Game of the Year award on Wednesday night and it looks likely that The Game Awards will do the same tonight.

Nintendo's Super Mario Bros Wonder follows Baldur's Gate 3 in the betting market but the difference in odds is significant with a 33% chance of winning compared to Baldur's Gate 3.

Valorant is the favourite to win the Best Esports Game

Riot Games had a dominant night at last month's Esports Awards with Valorant winning Game of the Year and it looks likely it will win the same award tonight.

The Game Awards has its very own Best Esports Game category and Valorant sits at the top of the betting market to win this award.

The betting market for this one though is far tighter than the normal Game of the Year category with Valorant only just ahead of League of Legends and Counter-Strike 2 in the market.

Valorant7/436.4%
League of Legends11/531.2%
Counter-Strike 212/529.4%

Faker tops the betting market to win Athlete of the Year

South Korean League of Legends player Faker is the favourite to win Esports Athlete of the Year at tonight's awards show in a category he's usually always nominated in.

Jacob "yay" Whiteaker won the award last year with Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok one of the nominees but tonight looks like it could be Fakers time to win if the odds are correct.

Faker's chances of winning the award according to the final betting market before tonight's ceremony suggest there's an 80% implied probability of him winning.

What the expert says..
Faker is one of the most popular Esports players there is with his time in League of Legends putting him firmly at the top of the popularity ladder. Bookies now say there's an 80% chance of him winning Esports Athlete of the Year tonight!
