Horse Racing Trainers To Follow In March (GB AW)

The AW part of the blog was weak last year with only 1 of the 6 trainers showing a profit, I expected a struggle finding suitable candidates but I've uncovered a few on the sand which is good as the weather at present suggests that's all we'll be seeing for a while.

MARK JOHNSTON (ALL)

Was in the blog last March with his 2yo's on the back of being 5/5 in the previous two years but didn't have a runner. All his horses this time around

• 2014 21/70 30% +£3.84
• 2015 10/40 25% (£5.25)
• 2016 11/49 22% (£10.64)
• 2017 12/44 27% +£12.80

Solid strike rate and although a LSL in 2015 and 2016 those would be eradicated to almost nothing if not profit with 10+ winners using BOG so their is little risk in my opinion. His last 3 runner, winner, winner 1/2L 3rd at 8/1 so bang in form.

WILLIE HAGGAS (ALL)

Another blog regular, doesn't have many AW runners at this time of year but makes them count when they go.
• 2014 1/3 33% (£0.75)
• 2015 0/3 0% (£3.00)
• 2016 4/8 50% +£8.25
• 2017 4/7 57% +£1.56
Increased runners and winners in the last two seasons probably due to Newcastle now being AW.

RICHARD HANNON (3yo's)

The flat can't be far away with Hannon in the blog, usually in with his turf 2yo's but surprisingly good figures with his 3yo's this month.
• 2014 3/9 33% +£1.75
• 2015 6/16 38% +£19.13
• 2016 1/12 8% (£9.13)
• 2017 5/29 17% +£15.98
Back on track after a poor March 2016. Has had only 1 winner per year with his other runners in March.

RALPH BECKETT (ALL)

Blog favourite, in last year but made a small loss.
• 2014 2/4 50% +£19.50
• 2015 4/10 40% +£ 2.34
• 2016 4/9 44% +£ 1.90
• 2017 3/9 33% (£2.96)
Unbelievable strike rate and had 2 seconds with that last year, it only seems fair to include again.

ED DUNLOP (ALL)

Newmarket trainer, surely been on the blog at some point. Red Galileo has been the stable star in recent years with Red Verdon his highest rated AW performer.

• 2015 1/11 9% (£9.20)
• 2016 6/17 35% +£10.03
• 2017 5/13 38% (£0.18)
2015 aside a great set of figures, BOG profits a certainty last year and comes into the month with form figures of 1123 with his finishers (one PU).

WILLIAM KNIGHT (4yo+)

Sussex trainer has a 18% strike rate and a +£LSP with 4yo+ runners on the AW over the past 5 seasons which is impressive.
• 2014 No Runners
• 2015 2/8 25% +£17.50
• 2016 2/6 33% +£1.88
• 2017 1/4 25% +£11.00
Solid stuff and little risk involved with only a handful of runners likely.

BRIAN SMART (4yo+)

Back from last year where he made a small profit from few runners as has been the norm.
• 2013 2/5 40% +£ 4.00
• 2014 1/4 25% +£ 0.00
• 2015 2/4 50% +£ 8.88
• 2016 1/3 33% +£ 4.00
• 2017 1/5 20% (£1.50)
Our own figures were +1.00 Lsp last year so no reason not to include.I'm going to leave it there for this month. Noseda (4yo+) and James Fanshawe are also likely to be profitable this month but so few runners means it's hardly worth including.As always any questions, observations or comments, please leave below.
