Best English EPL Managers
Two English managers have come close to winning the EPL but it has been a while since those heady days.
In the inaugural 1992/93 EPL season Ron Atkinson at Aston Villa took the club to second place. For long periods that season they were in with a chance of winning the title, but in the end, finished 10 points behind champions Manchester United.
EPL Season | Finishing Position | Manager | Club |
---|---|---|---|
1992/93 | 2nd | Ron Atkinson | Aston Villa |
1995/96 | 2nd | Kevin Keegan | Newcastle United |
1996/97 | 2nd | Kevin Keegan | Newcastle United |
Many of you may remember Kevin Keegan in a post-match interview launching into a rant about Sir Alex Fergusons Manchester United. However, his Newcastle United side did finish twice in consecutive seasons and entertained us with their style of football.
