Lake Forest ran well to finish 5th in the Group 1 Queen Anne less than two weeks ago and is turned out again quickly given the fast ground on offer. That form looks enough to win this Group 3, whilst the 7f trip is also more suitable than 8f LTO. His form in the Everest in Australia behind Lazzat also looks strong, as do his two runs in the UK as a 3yo. With a clear class edge and good pace on offer (Lethal Levi / Quinault), race conditions should also suit.

Talented 4 yo who has won 4 of his 6 career starts including an easy win in a good Conditions Stakes race at Thirsk on seasonal return back in April. Still improving and a big chance again today.

The well-bred 3yo filly has 3 wins from 5. She won a decent Listed race three weeks ago, slow ground, winning a shade cosy by 1 1/2L, the form boosted by the runner-up since. She receives a nice age allowance from all her seven rivals in this Group 3 and the good trainer can be trusted in pitching her against older runners. She can take another step forward. She was a nice debut winner on quick ground last year, which is a positive.

Room Service is in stall number 3, which is a good draw for a 7f contest at Newcastle and should allow him to track the leaders before delivering late. Trained by Kevin Ryan and ridden by Tom Eaves, he has had 10 runs with a 20% win rate and 30% place rate. His current mark of 109 is 3lb higher than when he last won, which makes things slightly tougher but not out of the question. He won over this trip last season and shaped well on seasonal return at Haydock, beaten just over 2 lengths in a very deep race. Goes well fresh, handles the Tapeta, and is one of the least exposed in this field. Each way chance in a race that should be run at a good pace.

Nostrum is a horse who could finish first or last in this race as he can be very in and out. But at the price, I reckon he is worth taking a small chance on. Some of his form is the best on offer here, and he is close to being top-rated in this race. He is also interesting because this is his first run since joining David O'Meara from Michael Stoute, and his horses, when running for a new stable, have been doing very well since the great man's retirement.

Course and distance victor, but he has not yet shown his best form in 3 races this year, only managing to beat one in the John of Gaunt Stakes at Haydock 28 days ago. A strong comeback is essential, and with jockey Jason Hart riding with a commendable 17% win rate, he could be the key to that. The attractive odds of 40/1 present a great opportunity for an each-way bet.
