The Karl Burke trained Wathnan owned Almoshher looks to have a great chance coming out of stall 22. Jockey Clifford Lee will no doubt be right up with the pace and this strong travelling son of Sea The Stars could prove hard to beat, with the ground, trip and grade all in his favour.

Plenty of promise shown including when not beaten far here last year followed by a very impressive win at Glorious Goodwood during the Summer. Can go well fresh first time out and looks a leading contenfer today.

Looked very much like he need the race when a no show at Newmarket but had previously won the Golden Gates here at Ascot in good style and winning comfortably and sent off a strong fav. No reason he won't be involved again.

Lightly raced 4yo. Beaten 3L six weeks ago in a Group 3, tricky track, still holding a chance inside the final furlong. He was beaten by four runners 110+, the winner rated 116 and Group 1 class. He shouldn’t fear these handicap rivals, he looks weighted to run a big race and he is a previous 12f C/D winner.

A 3 tines winner who comes here in good form after 2 wins and 4 frame finishes in 6 starts so far this year. Tough and consistent and looks capable of reaching the frame with 5 places.

This is drop down in class from last year when War Rooms ran in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes here following on from running at York in the Dante where he was 3rd, he moved from Owen Burrows to Gerard Keane in Ireland earlier this year after being gelded and has since run second twice over 14f beaten only a nose last time by San Salvador at Killarney. First time cheekpieces are applied and he drops back to 12f with Colin Keane on board.

SIEGE OF TROY has some sound Listed-class form in America and represents a top Irish trainer with high-profile owners. Plenty lining up in this race can stake a realistic claim , so if punted coming from this yard this useful middle-distance type could be interesting.

Blue Lemons has made big improvements since changing yards to Mullins and stepping up to 2 mile, including a G2 win in April with my only concern being the going and drop in trip but he is still worth an EW 5P chance

This horse always seems to find trouble in running, the race that caught my eye was at this meeting last year over 1m 6f, when repeatedly short of room and got beat by 6 lengths into 12th of 16, drops back to 1m 4f today and really needs a strongly run race to bring its stamina into play, which should happen here. I think 28/1 is rather generous to me

Ran very well @ Listed level on final start of last season on Aw @ Lingfield and very unlucky in running @ Chester Lto when coming 2/9 beaten a head in a decent class 2 handicap over extended 1.2 miles. No issues over this 1.4 miles and although best form has been on going with cut in it, they have won on today's faster ground. Good jockey/trainer combination, makes current 40/1 decent Ew value in the race.

HMS PRESIDENT has a single figure draw which on the round course can just about be overcome. Recent renewals of this race have shown such and Alan King's mature type was runner-up in this race two years ago. He could only realistically be an each-way play with extra places available.

Ran in a Group 3 last time out finishing 3rd of 5 only beaten 2 3/4L after having 'no extra' in the final furlong of 1m 6f. Down to a class 2 today and drop in trip to 1m 3f 211yds will suit after a refreshing 35 day break.

4th in this last year, Ethical Diamond looks fairly thrown in again, and Almosh’her intrigues again and has been picked up by Wathnan. They are both short enough in a wild race, and I was happy to have a wild go at Brodure here as a result. She needs to prove she handles the ground, but she ran a sound race behind Rose Jaipur last time. A horse in behind had previously finished 4L off Mont De Soleil who was just a couple of lengths behind 116 rated Junko in a Group 2 recently, so whilst it’s fairly abstract form it does suggest a mark of 97 is workable even if it doesn’t look like it on the face of this one’s form. She’s 80/1, and could go forward from a decent draw in a race that lacks an out and out front runner. She’s got something to prove up in trip, and she could be just genuinely outclassed and finish anywhere, but at her price I’m happy to give her a chance

Was 6th in this race 2 years ago by 3l and if i'm reading the signs right, the last two races have been to shave some weight off. It's kind of worked, but was maybe hoping for a little more if connections were hoping to win. Finished off in Meydan with a win and a 3rd the race before in March and the going today might not be as bad as some think for MM, although good would have been better. Tough race and the odds are not screaming winner, but was 2nd here the race after that 6th in this race 2 years ago, so runs well here and could run into one of the 5/6 places at this massive price.
