5:30 Goodwood Tips

This horse's CD 3rd in September was won in a finale blistering time. Whilst 6th from 7 on seasonal reappearance, he was far from disgraced. Just a lb above his last winning mark at Newmarket, he could be ready to go in with a return here and that run in his legs. Winning almost a year to the day at Windsor made it 2 wins from 4 runs in May, so he could be one to catch now off the back of that recent effort where he was just a touch too keen and fresh. If he can run anywhere near his best (peak RPR of 94, 5 starts back), then he can go in off a mark of 83. Rossa Ryan is 1/1 on him and takes the ride here.

Enchanting loves it here at Goodwood with two wins and two places from her four runs here. Didn't show up in her last race and the trainer couldn't explain why, so hopefully just a blip. But she won her penultimate race, which happened to be here, and has had time to recover since. She has won once after a short break. Always runs over this distance and has form on all goings from Good to Heavy. Hollie Doyle in the plate for all of her races bar one, and even then finished 2nd of 4 here.

Goodwood is by far my worst track, but this horse seems to have a lot going for him, so I'll give the track another shot. There seems to be a lot of headwind for races on the straight course today, and an extreme pace is forecasted. Both of these are in favor of horses which come from the rear, and Moulin Booj usually makes his run late on. His latest run at Musselburgh was promising, and he should go well up 2lb. Stall 13 is good on paper, but it could give him a tough run and he could end up an unlucky loser.

A consistent 4-year-old filly, she is a course and distance winner who has finished in the first three 11 times from 21 starts on turf and who was last seen finishing 3rd of 8 over 5 furlongs at Bath in April. Mason Paetel takes over on board today and claims 7 lbs. Distance and good going suit.

4yo filly Miss Show Off has easily won her last race over 5f at Salisbury by 2 1/2 lengths. Is still on a good mark despite the 8lb rise and should be in the mix here on ground conditions she likes.

Alcazan has won twice over 6 furlongs here at Goodwood, with the last coming in August last year off a mark of 72. She did win at Ascot over 5 furlongs last year. Having dropped back to her last winning mark and with Joe Leavy taking off an extra 3 lbs, she looks like a good EW bet with 4 places on offer.

Michaela's Boy has slipped to an attractive mark and looked in need of the run on return to action earlier this month. The nap ran well when 3rd here last summer and will have every assistance in the saddle with Rossa Ryan booked to ride.

No show @ Epsom Lto, but that is a very unique track and a lot of horses do not take to it. Was in very good form on the Aw prior to that run, but is a C/D winner so return to this surface and course not an issue. Retains a decent mark of 86 here, good jockey up and very shrewd trainer who does very well in the sprinting sphere, best here with his 4yo plus last 5 seasons, making current 11/1 very good Ew value in the race.

Has a great turn of foot, usually from the front end, but even came from behind to win before. Has to be a solid each-way chance here at a good price too.

Last win came in a class 3 at Newbury off an effective mark of 70, other reasonably recent wins have come off 72 and 76. Looks adaptable regarding ground but two of last three wins have come on Good/Firm and Good ground. Hinted a return to form last time, that was his second run of the season which should have put him spot on for today. Down to an effective mark of 68 today, can go well at a big price.

This horse is perhaps too consistent for his own good by running well and edging up the weights. But he's guaranteed to give his running and has run well here on his last three starts too. So every chance in an open race and deserves a change of luck.

Still looks to be on a good mark, and if we excuse the run at the tricky Epsom course, has been in decent nick. Won back in February, and although this race looks competitive, has each-way chances.
