Sky Advocate drops down to a class 5 maiden having run from top of the weights in Class 3 and Class 4 handicaps in his first two races this season. Last year as a two year old he finished 4th of 22 in the Tattersalls Auction Stakes at the Curragh as well as 3rd and two 2nd places in his four runs.

All but one of the nine runners here have had race experience without a win. So it rests on the sole newcomer to make a difference by winning on debut. Being unexposed, no one knows what he is bringing to the table in this contest. I believe connections are well aware of the ability of the others and are confident the selection has a chance while on debut with the given opposition.

Had run well both starts on debut at Newcastle and when stepping up in trip on turf. Both times shaped as if needing a step up in trip. Gets that here and dam has produced a couple of winners including one over 10f on good ground in Germany. Has shown ability and looks the EW play here.

Two career runs for the 3yo. Something amiss early April on his return but the yard has been in much better shape since. He was a good 2nd of 11 on his debut last Sept and that level of form today would make him a big player in this maiden race.

Decent debut at Chelmsford in December. Poor start but showed definite promise. Value here if fully wound up after 7 months off.
