Ready winner by 3.5 lengths on first run for Nicky Henderson in a juvenile hurdle at Ascot in January and made good on that promise when running second in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham, beaten just a neck. The French import was only beaten a neck by the fast finishing Poniros (won at 100-1) who probably benefited from the battle going on ahead of him between Lulamba and East India Dock. Lulamba looks backable at odds of bigger than 6-4.

Lulamba ran in the Triumph as a short-priced favourite with high expectations. He looked to be winning the race on the run, only to be collared by 100/1 lesser light of the Mullins Yard, Poniros. It could be that the jockey on the former was blindsided late and will be alert to the finish. On the other hand, Poniros is happy to face off again, so it's hard to oppose Willie Mullins' thinking on home soil now.
