Impose Toi ran well at Cheltenham to be an impressive 2nd of 25. He impressed again next time to be 4th of 20 at the Aintree Festival. It's possible that only three weeks between races wasn't quite long enough given the hard Cheltenham race. He's had a month this time and might be able to give weight.

No wins at 2 or 3 for Classic Encounter, though he was making progress last term. The fact that he signed off running third of 10 on the AW in a class five but was aimed at class 3 on the turf for the reappearance suggests the connections were confident that he had improved between last season and this. The confidence was justified by a cozy victory. He'll be better for that and can go close again now with only 4 pounds more.
