Harry The Rogue was a respectable sixth last time at Gowran Park after winning at Naas. He could bounce back to winning ways here tonight. With luck in running, he could certainly be involved in the finish.

He was 6th of 20, beaten just 2.5 lengths at Leopardstown in March before finishing runner-up at Dundalk a week later. He was only 8th at Curragh last week, but that was over 7 furlongs. Back at 8 furlongs off a 5 lbs lower mark, he looks a good each way bet with 4 places on offer.

The maiden tag still bugs me for Deuteronomy from the Burns combo, but it's going better than it looks and gets a chance off this low rating and a good draw here.

Mogwli won for me the other day and had apprentice jockey Megan Telford-Kelly, who takes off ten pounds. She was not hard on the horse when winning at Gowran Park. Gone up seven pounds but could be carrying this off with distinction.

A more exposed bunch you won’t find. It might pay to side with one of the least exposed ones in Mark Fahy’s ARTHUR ROSE. This lightly raced 4 y/o filly has had 2 spins on the turf this year, both on soft ground, and hasn’t shown a whole pile. Back down in trip today and encountering faster ground, this might be a good opportunity for her to show an improvement in form. There isn’t much of a bias here, but you wouldn’t want to be drawn too high, so trap 2 offers another bit of mild encouragement. Fahy’s stable is purring along nicely, and at 16/1 I’ll chuck a penny in the well.

RELEVANT RANGE has run well at this venue previously and and is third-up for this spell with potential to peak. His latest effort is probably best ignored on unsuitable testing ground and ace apprentice Darragh O'Sullivan has winning form on this experienced type.

Eammon O'Connell’s 7-year-old gelding SAY YOU'RE SORRY can be forgiven for the hoof rust 60 days ago at Dundalk (11f), and should/could strip fitter here after a 211-day break. This son of OCOVANGO has yet to shed his maiden tag, but it looked like the penny had started to drop in his last two runs - both on the all-weather - over today’s trip, finishing 4th twice (beaten 2 and 1¼ lengths) off a mark of 54. He arrives here at Killarney, where the left-handed, flat, and sharp characteristics of the track could potentially spark improvement from this lightly raced charge (and by 'lightly raced' I’m, of course, referencing his turf record with only three starts to date). As a fellow tipster (and good friend) has already noted, this field is very exposed, and I’d also prefer to side with a higher-priced, less exposed contender. With 5lbs less to carry, a left-handed sharp track, and a pipe-opener now in the tank, I’m happy to take my chance. And who knows? If the equine gods are in a forgiving mood, they may just smile down on this one and maybe even on me.

Very lightly raced for a 5-year-old and not much to write home about based on recent form, but has shown some ability before entering handicaps. Mark reduced by three pounds and gamble taken on her.
