Full Bet442 Bookmaker Review

Bet442, like most Aspire platforms, is great for betting on smaller sports.

Most major sports have a decent number of markets, probably more than most other bookies. There are, however, some sports that aren’t covered very well at all. Horse racing, greyhound racing and a couple of others aren’t good enough to bet regularly here. And for the US sports, while the actual content is fine there’s too many product/style issues that mean it won’t compete against better services.

That’s the downside. On the upside, there are some very minor sports here that aren’t covered by the majority of competitors such as surfing, the Olympics, biathlon and ski jumping. And that’s on top of great football coverage, as well as other major sports like tennis and cricket.

If the lack of promotions – beyond some odds boosts here and there – isn’t a problem, then there’s a very good chance that punters may stay here because it’s one of the few places that they can find what they’re after.

First Impression of Bet442

My First Impressions

Bet442 looks, in terms of layout, like most other Aspire Global sportsbooks, and if you’ve used the likes of mr.play, BzeeBet or LuckLand, you’ll immediately recognise the platform. The obvious difference is the branding, but everything works in much the same way. Once you’ve selected “Sport” at the very top menu, you’ll immediately be taken to all the in-play markets. The menu down the side immediately conveys just how many sports, competitions and events are covered here. I also love the slider on the menu bar to move from different time frames: today, three days, this week etc.

Bet442 Live Betting

As mentioned above, the in-play markets are where you’ll land from the off, something that is pretty standard across most sportsbooks, allowing you to then choose to navigate from this page. There are some sports not featured here, snooker for example, which does suggest that the coverage isn’t quite as wide-ranging as I initially suspected, but there’s esports and table tennis covered, which is a theme that we’ll see continue. Bet442 Betting Odds

Comparing Bet442’s odds to that of other bookies, as well as checking some comparison sites, Bet442 – like other Aspire Global brands – offers very solid odds across the board . We checked football, basketball and cricket for in-play odds, plus horse racing, greyhounds and darts for pre-match and ante post odds. What’s worth highlighting is that Bet442 offers odds on some very minor sports (surfing and biathlon, for example), so will be one of the few places you can find odds on such sports at all.

Bet442 Betting App or Mobile Site 

Quite a few Aspire bookies don’t have apps, in fact most of them don’t, and I initially assumed that it would be the same here, but Bet442 does have one and it’s really good. It makes me wonder why others don’t, because the navigation on the app is much slicker. I always find it a bit staggered trying to go back a page on Aspire sites, but there’s no such issue with the app here, and everything feels that bit smoother. Your bets load in the betslip – which is part of the menu at the bottom – but most of the navigating is done through the hamburger in the top-left or the carousels that sit just above the markets.

Bet442 Football Betting

With a name that includes 442, you’d hope the football betting was up to scratch, and it is. We rank every bookie, at every sport, and Bet442 doesn’t quite make our best football betting sites in the UK, but it’s still very good. The menu panel is telling me that there’s just under one thousand different games that I can bet on at this moment in time, and that’ll compete with anyone. Beyond that, you can’t argue with the market depth, which is also very impressive.

Bet Builder 

I think on the whole, Aspire have improved their bet builder across most brands, because this is definitely better than similar products that I remember. The bet builder function works really well, and has more markets than you initially think – selecting certain markets brings about additional drop-downs and more specific markets. There’s plenty of player options – something that can sometimes be overlooked – and it’s difficult to fault.

Bonuses

It’s always a little disconcerting when a bookie lists features such as cash out and bet builder in their promotions page, because these are fairly standard across the board and it’s definitely a stretch to call them promotions. Bet442 claims that they reward loyal customers with additional bonuses, which is good to hear, but I’d definitely like to see some more in the way of promotions from the off.

Cash Out

Cashout is a very important betting feature for punters these days so it's crucial that bookies integrate this feature into their mobile betting apps. Bet442 have done this well, allowing their customers to instantly cash out their bets on any device they like.

Bet442 Horse Racing

Bet442’s horse racing offering is very run of the mill. We’ve already discussed the fact that there are next to no promotions on any sports really. The actual odds for horse racing are quite good, but there’s no BOG (Best Odds Guaranteed), which is a bit of a let down. It’s also actually quite hard to find horse racing on the site, as it’s housed on the right-hand side, and not listed in the main list of sports. On the plus side there are races beyond the UK and Ireland, with meets in Italy and Panama, among other places, listed today. Bet442 US Sports Betting

A full range of American Sports is available. We’ll check out the major leagues, but also look into the sports further down the pyramid and, as well as across the globe. 

American Football Betting

Unfortunately, it’s too difficult to find the spread for individual games. This is the absolute go-to for betting on American football, and provides an idea of how bookies view the game. When you see the event (a specific game) it only lists the winner and total. This is better than just displaying the result market, which some do, but what it really should show is three markets: spread, total and moneyline (result). You can see these once you click through, but it’s not how bettors on these sports bet, and they list a number of different spreads all at the same time – it all feels a little off. The good news is that there are absolutely loads of markets here, including next season’s outrights and NFL Draft markets, which is great to have. Basketball Betting

Bet442 has a brilliant selection of basketball leagues to bet on, there are hundreds and hundreds of competitions. There’s obviously the NBA, but Bet442 covers a wide range of EuroLeague and domestic world competitions, including competitions in Colombia, Tunisia, New Zealand and Estonia, among others. There are also plenty of markets per game, with game, team and player markets covered impressively.

Baseball Betting

Bet442 obviously covers the MLB, but they also have markets for the Mexican and Korean leagues. The markets, and the odds, especially on the outrights, look excellent. The MLB season is well underway and there are loads of things to bet on, including individual awards, as well as all the usual game markets. Keep tabs on the top baseball betting sites though, to see why they make it onto our list.

Ice Hockey Betting

The NHL takes up the bulk of space here, as expected. But there are also some Finnish, Australian, and German fixtures included, among others. I selected an upcoming NHL game and there are loads of markets listed – more than pretty much anywhere else. For the smaller leagues that reduces a bit more, which is understandable. Overall, I’m struggling to think of any other bookies that have as many markets per game, apart from other Aspire brands.

Bet442 Greyhound Betting

This isn’t great, and I’d be surprised if any big greyhound bettors are coming to Bet442. There are some odds for the English Greyhounds Derby and that’s it. There’s obviously no Best Odds Guaranteed, but there are around 15 different tracks across the UK with races on today, let alone abroad, and none are featured here. It’s obviously a conscious decision to not attack greyhound racing properly, because it doesn't match the effort across a lot of other sports.

Bet442 Darts Betting

By Matt Edgar, professional darts player – Compared to other darts betting sites in the UK, Bet442 has some good and some bad. The outrights on future events are great, but once you click through to the match ups the number of markets drops quite a lot, and I can’t stack any bets within that. Maybe they increase the market number and variety closer to the time of the match, but I’d definitely like to see more earlier on.

Bet442 Snooker Betting

At the time of the review we’re in the middle of the Champions League, which I can’t live stream unfortunately, but I do like the amount of markets per game that they offer, and generally the odds are pretty good.

Bet442 Rugby Betting (Union & League)

For both, there is pretty much every competition that you’d want to be included here, which is brilliant. The only omission to that is the Japanese domestic league, but that’s being very nit-picky, because overall the coverage of competitions is fantastic. Bet442 Cricket Betting

By James Banting - This is pretty nice because Bet442 offers all the competitions that I’d expect to see, plus a couple of extras that I wasn’t with some domestic events and leagues all over the globe. I also really like how many markets are available here for each game, assuming it’s not miles away in the future before teams are announced etc. For those that are a bit of a way off, there are still some good futures and antepost markets to take advantage of, so overall I’m pretty happy with the cricket betting here.

Bet442 Tennis Betting

By James Banting - At the time of review their tennis section has 286 different tennis markets to bet on, which is fantastic. These games obviously cover the world, with the Grand Slams right down to smaller Challenger events. The odds are good, and there’s plenty of markets, but I’d like to see more in-play markets. There’s no live streaming, but the stats that feature are pretty good. See if they make it into the top 10 tennis betting sites on OLBG.

Bet442 Golf Betting

There are futures markets on all the majors (although no Ryder Cup stuff), and there is a selection, around six or seven, of upcoming tournaments of varying importance. Yes, you’ll find a bit more at some other bookies – and it’s worth checking our best golf betting sites to see how Bet442 compares – but generally this is fine.

Bet442 Motorsports Betting

Everything is it’s own thing, rather than housed under a “motor sports” banner, but I can see Formula 1, obviously, on top of Speedway and Indy racing. There’s nothing in the way of bikes, such as MotoGP, or any NASCAR, which is a little annoying, especially when something as niche as stock car racing is included. Overall I am impressed with the detail in the Formula 1 markets, and if I ever choose to make a stock car bet I know where to come.  

Bet442 Boxing Betting

Those this weekend and over the next few weeks have an okay offering, whereas the further away they get the less markets on offer. That’s understandable, and I wouldn’t expect to find round by round and the like for fights that are months away, but I would definitely like more options for big bouts this weekend, and that’s definitely limited based on my experience with Bet442.

Other Sports Betting

Whilst these sports might sound very niche, there is a massive market for fans, and millions of them in the UK, so good coverage of niche sports and events is key to be reviewed on OLBG.

Bet442 offers extensive betting options for Handball, volleyball, cycling, AFL betting, and esports. Handball includes global competitions; volleyball,covers European Championships and various tournaments; cycling features future tours and current races; AFL betting has comprehensive stats and esports offers all major games like League of Legends and CS:GO.

Political Betting

By Nigel Skinner - Bet442 houses its political betting under “Specials”, along with Entertainment. The political betting is okay, but a bit limited in parts. This is essentially split into UK and US politics, with a decent amount on the General Election, next party leaders and size of majority, and there is a similar offering for the US, but there is nothing from anywhere else around the globe.

Casino

Bet442 does have casino, which is incredibly easy to find their casino offering from their sportsbook, with banners across the top. Bet442 Account Opening Process

A reassuringly easy process. At the top-right of the screen Bet442 has their “Register” button. Bettors just need to select this and follow the simple steps as guided through. You’ll be asked for the usual information – name, date of birth, address etc – and once complete be sent a verification email. Clicking this from your inbox will redirect you to the site, and then you’re free to get betting.

Navigation and user experience [desktop v mobile]

As I mentioned above, Bet442’s app is really good, and makes me think that other Aspire bookies should follow suit. The main draw to using the app is that the navigation is better, specifically when it comes to returning to a page that you’ve just left as on the desktop it’s actually quite a long process that usually involves going back to the homepage and working your way back again. The app is smoother, and ultimately better considered. The more I used it, the more it’s where I returned. 

Placing a bet

This section should only really highlight if there are issues, as the process is almost identical on every site. Within a few minutes of signing up to Bet442 I placed a couple of bets on different sports, one of which took advantage of the welcome offer, and I used their bet builder feature, which was very indeed. 

Managing your account

As mentioned above, the design really helps this along. On the desktop version, it’s stuff to the  left of the screen. On the app, it’s all at the bottom, with just the login at the top. I haven’t experienced any issues logging in, or finding customer service options, either. Overall, it feels like Bet442 has got this part nailed.

Bet442 Responsible Gambling Features

As with all online betting companies, responsible gambling should be and will be an essential element of the service provided.

Expect KYC procedures and document supply as a matter-of-course, to confirm your account after you have deposited a certain level of funds and in the event of any large wins.

You can set limits for yourself across depositing options and daily staking options too, so you can set your levels and keep control of your gambling.

Expect Bet442 to contact you via your preferred communication method if there are suspicious activities on your account. This protects your account from being accessed by someone other than you and ensures you control your gambling activity. Bet442 have a legal obligation to question your activity if they believe it to be suspicious.
