Bookies are offering odds on snowfall in America this year with various betting markets around different cities across the country seeing a White Christmas take place.

The National Operational Hydrologic Remote Sensing Center (NOHRSC) say that around 37% of the Lower 48 States have had snow on the ground on Christmas in the last twenty years.

Snowfall isn't uncommon in a lot of places in America with White Christmas's a common theme and to qualify for a White Christmas in your city you have to see at least 1 inch of snow on the ground on Christmas day.

Out of the Western Cities in America, Salt Lake City is unsurprisingly favourite to see snow on Christmas day with the historic probability on snow in the city at 48% according to the NOAA Climate.

Cleveland has a 66% chance of having a White Christmas this year

The National Climate Data Center suggests that Cleveland and Indianapolis have in-between a 25-40% chance of White Christmas annually and Cleveland exceeds those chances according to this year's odds.

Snow storms could well be frequent across the Midwest as the cold air starts to ramp up in the coming weeks and as we get towards the festive period we may well see snow start to fall.
