Latest odds now sit at 2/1 that TikTok is banned before May 2025 in the US
Betting specials continue to be offered around social media platform TikTok with the app set for a potential ban in the US with legislation expected to pass in January.
TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew met President-elect Donald Trump earlier this month to discuss what's next with the platform fighting the ban.
Earlier this year a law was passed which mean that TikTok would be banned in the US unless its Chinese parent company ByteDance sold it by January 19.
No sale has happened as of yet and the company have now made an emergency application to the US Supreme Court to have the ban delayed for the foreseeable.
That January 19 date is a day before Donald Trump takes charge for his second Presidential reign so any delay would help their cause with Trump expected to oppose the ban.

What the expert says...
TikTok filed emergency injunction for review of legislation earlier this month
TikTok's emergency appeal comes in the light of their bid rejected by US federal appeals court to have their ban overturned.
The court upheld the law that is set in place saying that they were put in place and "carefully crafted to deal only with control by a foreign adversary, and it was part of a broader effort to counter a well-substantiated national security threat posed by the PRC (People's Republic of China)".
It's thought now that Shou Zi Chew's meeting with Trump was based around trying to get any ban overturned when he comes back into power.

Next President Donald Trump has spoke of warm spot for app
The current banning of TikTok is set to take place in the US on January 19 2025, just one day before Donald Trump becomes 47th President of the United States on 20 January.
Trump previously signed laws to ban TikTok during his first period as US President but a deal was eventually made to keep it going and now it may be that the app is banned for a day before he takes over again.
Earlier this month Trump revealed that they are "taking a look at it" in regards to the potential ban adding "βI have a little bit of a warm spot in my heart. I'll be honest".
