Darts sensation Luke Littler has shortened into 9/4 for Sports Personality of the Year
Nominees have now officially been announced for the 2024 Sports Personality of the Year award and Darts superstar Luke Littler has now shortened in the market with UK Betting Sites after his surprise inclusion.
Many thought that his nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year last week had ended his hopes for the main prize with OLBG reporting that he had drifted out to 9/2 following that announcement.
Since then though, Littler has been confirmed as one of six nominees for this year's SPOTY award with the Darts player joined by Jude Bellingham, Keely Hodgkinson, Joe Root, Sarah Storey and Alex Yee.
William Hill's latest market sees 17-year-old Littler now move into 9/4 for the award with Hodgkinson still the heavy favourite to be crowned champion this year.
The latest betting market suggests it's a two-horse race for the SPOTY award with Joe Root third favourite in the odds list out at 40/1.

Keely Hodgkinson still leads the way in the betting market to be crowned Sports Personality of the Year after originally moving into favourite before the Olympics even got underway.
Hodgkinson was branded as one of Team GB's biggest Olympic stars and proved to be just that by winning gold in the 800m in Paris.
Bookmakers have drifted her odds out ever so slightly with the Olympian going from 1/5 to 1/3 to win the award this week with her winning chances dropping by around 8%.

The show will be presented by Gabby Logan, Alex Scott and Clare Balding and aired live on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.
Gary Lineker stepped down from presenting the Sports Personality of the Year ceremony last month following the news that he would be leaving Match of the Day at the end of the season.
