  • Donald Trump favourite at 5/4 to win 2025 Nobel Peace Prize after Putin-Zelensky talks.
  • Yulia Navalnaya drifts to 2/1 but remains a strong contender.
  • Attenborough, Guterres and Lazzarini also feature as outsiders in the market.

Donald Trump New Favourite to Win the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize After Putin-Zelensky Peace Push

US President Donald Trump has emerged as the new betting favourite to win the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, following high-profile talks with Vladimir Putin earlier this week and upcoming meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Trump has long made it clear that winning the award would be a defining part of his legacy and bookmakers have reacted to recent diplomatic moves by slashing his odds.

According to William Hill, the US President is now 5/4 to land the honour, moving ahead of previous market leader Yulia Navalnaya, who drifts to 2/1.

Further work in stopping the Russia/Ukraine war would ultimately see his odds shorten even further and give him a real chance of winning the Nobel Peace Prize.

What the expert says...
Trump’s push to position himself as a global peacemaker has shifted the odds dramatically. The Nobel Committee has surprised us before, but the fact he is favourite shows punters believe his recent moves with Russia and Ukraine could resonate.

Context Behind the Market

Trump’s face-to-face discussions with Putin in Alaska have sparked global debate, with reports suggesting he is working to broker a potential ceasefire framework.

His planned meeting with Zelensky will be closely watched and could define his Nobel credentials.

Meanwhile, Navalnaya, widow of late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, remains a strong candidate, particularly given her symbolic leadership role in the fight for democracy and human rights.

Elsewhere, naturalist David Attenborough remains in contention at 10/1, while UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini are priced at 14/1 each.
