Swansea Sack Sheehan as Relegation Fears Grow

Swansea City have sacked head coach Alan Sheehan following their 4-1 home defeat to Ipswich Town, marking the end of a disappointing run of form for the former caretaker boss.

UK Betting Sites have already started to offer odds on the next Swansea City manager market with a whole host of big names in the running to replace Sheehan.

Despite a promising spell last season where he lifted Swansea to mid-table safety, Sheehan couldn’t build on the momentum this term.

With six defeats and just four wins from 15 games, the Swans currently sit 18th in the Championship table and dangerously close to the relegation zone.

BetVictor now give full odds on who will take over with Michael Carrick the 4/1 favourite.

What the expert says...
Carrick’s ability to develop young players fits Swansea’s DNA. Brendan Rodgers appearing in the market would be a massive shock, with the former Swans boss unlikely to return.

Will Swansea Stay Up This Season?

While the Swans still have time to turn their season around the next managerial appointment will be crucial.

Fans will hope the board act quickly with a string of winnable games ahead.

Swansea remain one of the more attractive Championship clubs for any manager given their infrastructure and history, but there’s no time for sentiment and survival must come first.
