I break betting odds news as it happens, so you’re never left behind when the market moves or a top offer lands.

  • Bet365 have opened a next-club market for Bruno Guimarães after Sandro Tonali completed his £100m move from Newcastle to Tottenham
  • Arsenal are the clear favourite destination if Guimarães does leave, at 9/4, after having a £55m approach rejected
  • Manchester United, Real Madrid and Manchester City make up the rest of the market

Tonali's Exit Puts Bruno Guimarães in the Spotlight

Newcastle fans checking the latest odds on betting sites this week will have noticed a familiar name appearing in a new market.

Bet365 have released prices on Bruno Guimarães' next club after Sandro Tonali completed his club-record £100m switch from Newcastle to Tottenham, a deal that has inevitably turned attention towards whether the Magpies' captain could be the next big departure from Tyneside.

Tonali's move, in which the Italian revealed De Zerbi's role in convincing him to join Spurs, means Newcastle have now sold both Anthony Gordon and Tonali this summer, and reports suggest Arsenal have already tested the water for Guimarães with a £55m approach that was swiftly knocked back.

Newcastle are said to be preparing fresh contract talks in an effort to keep hold of their talisman, but with two years left on his current deal and Arsenal reportedly ready to return with an improved offer, Bet365 clearly see enough smoke to open a market on where he could end up.

Here's how bet365 currently price the market, sorted from shortest to longest odds along with the implied probability behind each price:

Real Madrid14/16.7%

Favourite to Stay at Newcastle

Staying put remains the clear favourite at 4/6, and it's not hard to see why.

Guimarães is regarded as the heartbeat of Eddie Howe's side, and there's a sense that while he may be open to hearing offers, he'd be just as happy fighting on at St James' Park as he would forcing an exit.

Arsenal sit clearly ahead of the chasing pack at 9/4 given their confirmed interest and rejected opening bid, while Manchester United, Real Madrid and Manchester City make up a distant supporting cast at 10/1, 14/1 and 18/1 respectively, all prices that reflect genuine long-term admiration for the Brazilian rather than any concrete transfer activity

Bruno's World Cup ended yesterday with Brazil losing 2-1 to Norway, with the midfielder missing a penalty in the first half.

Newcastle's stance is understood to be that no fresh discussions over his future will properly begin until the tournament concludes, which could mean this market stays fairly settled for a few more weeks yet before any real movement.
