Mark Chapman is now the evens favourite to be the next Match of the Day host
Former England striker turned presenter Gary Lineker is set to leave Match of the Day at the end of the season with odds now given on who will replace him next year.
Lineker will step down from the BBC's flagship football show after 25 years and the network will already be looking for who will replace him in the big role.
Mark Chapman is the evens favourite to replace Lineker with his odds tumbling down from 2/1 into 5/4 to move into the hot seat for the main show next.
Chapman currently presents Match of the Day 2 on the BBC and would be a natural replacement for Lineker moving forward.
Star Sports are offering odds on the market with Chapman topping the odds, giving an implied probability of 44.4% that it will be him who takes over.

Gary Lineker is set to step down at the end of the season
25 years on from taking over as host of Match of the Day, Gary Lineker will step down from the role at the end of the 2024/25 season.
Lineker though will stay at the BBC for the 2026 World Cup and will lead the coverage of the network's fixtures for the tournament with Thomas Tuchel taking charge of the Three Lions.
The 63-year-old has been one of the biggest stars at the BBC in recent years and the BBC's figures say that he made roughly Β£1.35m during the last financial year.

Alex Scott and Gabby Logan follow Chapman in the market
Alex Scott is the BBC's head presenter for their coverage of the Women's Super League and it could be that she is chosen as the successor to Lineker next.
Scott has stepped in as Lineker's replacement on Match of the Day before when he has missed it through other engagements and BBC bosses may well be impressed with how she handled the coverage.
The latest market now says there's a 25% chance that Scott becomes the next MOTD presenter and it does look likely that she will be in the running for the role.
