Bookies make Call The Midwife the main rival to the King's first Christmas Speech in the TV Ratings war

Christmas Day is fast approaching and with it comes a whole host of festive specials for some of the UK's favourite television programmes.

Bookies are giving odds on the top viewing figures on Christmas Day, with the King's first Christmas Speech leading the way in the betting at 1/5.

William Hill say that Call The Midwife is the favourite to challenge King Charles with odds of 10/3 that it has more viewers than the King on Christmas Day.

According to the betting market, "all bets will be settled on the average overnight figures released by BARB immediately after the 25th December".

Most Viewed TV Show Christmas Day Odds Probability
The King's Speech (BBC 1) 1/5 83.3%
Call The Midwife 10/3 23.1%
Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 12/1 7.7%
Doc Martin 25/1 3.8%
Eastenders 40/1 2.4%
Mrs Brown's Boys 40/1 2.4%
The King's Speech is the heavy favourite to win the TV Ratings war this Christmas Day with a 1/5 chance to have the most viewers according to the latest bookie odds. Call The Midwife seems to be the only real competitor to the King on Christmas.
