Super League Grand Final 2024

Super League Grand Final 2024: Review

Wigan Warriors completed history on Saturday 12th October when they won the final leg of an amazing four title season. Wigan defeated Hull KR 9-2 in a hard-fought final to record the clean sweep of World Club Challenge, Challenge Cup, League Leaders' Shield and the Super League Grand Final. No Super League team has managed to win all four titles in one season before.

Hull KR were trying to win their first major title since taking the then First Division title in the 1984/85 season. Hull KR had also finished runners-up to Wigan for the League Leaders' Shield, losing out by just two points over the course of the season.

in a tight final, Australian Bevan French scored the only try of the game in the 23rd minute. Adam Keighran converted after the try and then Harry Smith contributed a drop goal after 40 minutes.  Hull KR made it on to the scoreboard via a penalty from Mikey Lewis in the 57th minute and finally Keighran scored a penalty for Wigan on 62 minutes to complete the scoring.

Bevan French received the Rob Burrow Award as the player of the match.

Wigan were completing back-to-back Super League Grand Finals for the first time in their history and have now won the overall title seven times.
