Unexposed 3yo, five career runs, 2 wins from 2 this year. Impressive winner of a competitive 10 runner handicap last time out. Travelled strong just behind the leaders, delivered late and quickly put the race to bed, winning by 1L+, with plenty in the locker. The front three pulled well clear of the rest. The form has since been given a big boost by the 3rd in the race. The selection is on an upward curve, will be fresh after a 2 month break and a higher mark might not stop him.

Comfortable winner last time out in a Class 2 handicap at Newmarket over the 6 furlong trip. Up in the ratings but similar race conditions and yard form are big positives.

Fast Track Harry gets my vote just because he won on the return last month and is now second up after wind surgery so I would expect more today

A big progressing horse this spring in handicap races, completed a 3 timer last time out at Haydock, up 4lb but should go close with more improvement to come.

Tuco Salamanca has produced two solid efforts in competitive handicaps at Ascot and Goodwood, finishing placed in both, and could be in the frame again here, carrying a light weight of 8st 4lb. He has been admirably consistent since the start of the season, with a wind operation clearly having had a positive effect, beginning his campaign with three consecutive wins on the all-weather. This straight course and likely strong pace should suit him well. Although he faces in-form rivals, several of them are now carrying penalties for recent wins. Tuco Salamanca remains relatively well treated at the weights and looks worth an each-way bet at around 12/1 with bookies going 6 places.

Race 4 at York today is the Macmillan Sprint Handicap (Class 2) for 3 year olds over 1,207 m and the suggested wager is for the each way on the 3yo gelding American Style from the Kevin Ryan yard and will be ridden by Rowan Scott , this son of Washington DC is a two time winner and has been running some spectacular races in this class recently narrowly missing out on winning , has definite claims in this

Won the very hot sales race over today's C/D @ the York Ebor meeting on final start as a 2yo and made a very good comeback in a class 3 handicap @ Chester, coming 2/11 beaten 4.25 lengths. Entitled to come on for that run, good jockey retains ride and very good trainer has a good record in this race, making current 16/1 very good Ew value in the race.

Backing Loom, a 3??'year??'old Kodiac gelding trained by Ralph Beckett, in tomorrow’s 6f Macmillan Sprint Handicap at York. He’s shown signs of genuine ability this season, most notably when finishing a good 6th of 13 in York’s William Hill More Top Prices Handicap over 5f on May 31??'a performance that hinted he might prefer a return to six furlongs, where he’ll now step up in trip . His pedigree suggests he’ll enjoy the extra distance, and his York run showed he stays on strongly once asked. At a rating of around 90 and drawn well, I expect Loom to be ridden with patience, settling midfield before delivering a late surge down the Knavesmire straight. Trainer Ralph Beckett is adept at readying sprinter??'milers for these competitive early??'summer handicaps, and his confidence in stepping Loom back up in trip looks astute. With the strong pace likely to play into his hands, he offers smart each??'way value, especially if he can translate that speed and stamina into a full 6??'furlong effort.

Track will suit this front runner who has won 2 of his last 3 races. Worth a go up in grade and class here and with 5 places on offer has a chance of a place at least

This horse is completely unexposed after just 3 lifetime runs. Carries a nice low weight after a narrow victory at Yarmouth, and is open to plenty of improvement.

The one thing you can rely on in this 21 runner cl2 h/cap is stay away from favourites as no winners since 2005. The Michael Dodds trained Northern Ticker is the best horse in the race with a rating of 101. He wasn't disgraced when last seen finishing 3/19 in The Two Year Old Trophy (Listed Stakes) over 6f at Redcar back in October 24. The in form Paul Mulrennan is 2 from 4 on him and a good jockey to have on your side at York.

Veblen Good's last race looked very good, given the absence, and the handicap mark looks fair based on racing to date. If improving, this looks a gilt edged chance

James Owen stable form can't be ignored for this contest - currently operating at 30% win strike rate. Far Above Dream sits nicely weighted near bottom weights and has the preferential high draw. A winner on handicap debut since transferring from Denis Hogan stable in Ireland. Very much unexposed and potentially overpriced for this race

A J P Murtagh trained 3 year ols who has had 8 races on the flat winning once and has finished 2nd twice. Dhe won a 13k fillies handicap at the Curragh ln May over 6f on good to firm going when leading 3 furlongs out to win by 4 1/4 lengths, Dhe os in a class 2 handicap over 6f on good to firm going and has Rory Mulligan in the saddle claiming 5lbs who has won on ger on the a/w over 6f and finished 2nd if 17 runners on her at Nass over 6f on good to yielding, This fiilly is in good form and has not finished out the frame since cheek-peices has been fitted . She is a winner over this distance and has won on similar going , jockey claiming a useful 5lbs and has won on her. Has a decent e/w shout in this race today,

Clive Cox has won this race in 2 of the last 3 years and had the 4th and 6th in the other year so this is clearly a race where he lines his horses up on attractive marks. He's booked Oisin Orr who is a jockey that I rate who is improving all the time especially in these big field handicaps where he keeps a cool head. The win at Newmarket is the key piece of form for me where the third in particular has advertised this horses chances since.

Good juvenile form last year winning a Class 2 Novice very easily at Chester on race debut at Chester in May of last year follwed by an excellent 3rd of 22 runners in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and ran well in the other 2 starts of the year. Has been well beaten in bith starts this season but could have needed them and likely to strip fitter today so a big run is likely.

Won a novice race over this trip at Pontefract in July 2024 and then 11th of 20 beaten 6.5 lengths in the Goffs Premier Yearling Stakes, a hot and valuable race over course and distance. Finished 2024 racing in the listed William Hill Two Year old trophy over this trip. Opened this year's account looking in the need of the race when 3rd of 5 beat 1.25 lengths over Beverley's extended 7 furlongs off a rating of 83 and weakened close to home over 7 furlongs last time out at Doncaster. Races off 81 here but has the additional benefit of William Pyle's 3 pound allowance and with 6 places readily available could be each way value dropping back to 6 furlongs.

KING'S CALL has joined an in-form trainer in Seb Spencer and this new recruit also holds an entry in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot. That is interesting and this three year old taking on his own age group may have matured following a spell in Dubai earlier this year. Pitched in deep through his career to date , feasibly treated with course form suited by any rain which may fall he merits a market check.
