Washington Heights has been running well in Group Level sprints without winning since April 2023 when he won a 6f Group 3 at Newmarket. He will battle for the lead all the way with Jm Jungle and should come out on top.

Washington Dc’s 14% SR (A/E 0.37) with favourites in summer and K Ryan’s 0/15 record with favs over 5f at York makes Washington Heights easy to oppose here. Next up JM JUNGLE makes the most appeal against; the Bungle Inthejungle gelding has been supremely consistent this season, accumulating a win and four places from five starts. He’s running off a 1lb higher mark than when 3/4l 2nd of 7 over C&D last month but lost to a fancied horse carrying a whopping 13lb less. The handicap is much more compressed today and BIJ’s 35% SR (A/E 1.61) with runners carrying 9-1 to 9-3 adds further confidence. 7/2 taken.

The 3yo filly has 3 wins from 7, in good form and is open to more progress. She has gone very close in her last two races, both Listed races, good RPR ratings, including a run over this 5f C/D. Another Listed contest today but now against older runners but she does receive a 5lb age allowance, plus a 5lb sex allowance. I don’t think good trainer Richard Hughes would have her running if he didn’t think she had a chance.

Apollo One has been doing his racing over 6 furlongs recently, but this drop back to 5 on this straight track may suit, particularly when one considers the fractions he set on his last start.

Grand Grey has been a bit down the pack since a close second in G3 in April and might find today's listed company a tad easier, especially with Kevin Stott in the saddle this time.

Rosy Affair has had ten runs so far and has won three and placed in six. The only duff run was on the return last month when fourth in listed company, but that was still only just over a length away from the winner. I would expect more now, second up EW.

Was back to form at York at the end of May, running a close 5th in a 5f handicap from a mark of 90. Had been eased slightly by the handicapper ahead of her next run at Windsor and only just failed to land a victory. Went up in class last time at Ayr, where a slow start cost him any chance. Can do a lot better if breaking smarter.
