Change Signs looks an interesting contender in this sprint. While he has only had one go over 5F in 2024 - finishing down the field - it's worth noting he was very keen that day and likely did too much early. His latest run over 6F here was a much stronger effort, just touched off by Circe, going down a short head after leading and only being collared late. Importantly, he pulled nearly 5 lengths clear of the third, suggesting that was solid form. This is further backed up with Circe finishing a decent 5th at Epsom. Before that, he ran a creditable 6th in a competitive York handicap, and earlier in the year he finished a good 3rd behind Habooba at Kempton. That form has worked out nicely, with Habooba going on to win a decent handicap at York and Epsom 5F winner in behind that day (JM Jungle). He is fairly consistent overall and doesn't seem ground dependent. With dry conditions forecast, the going should suit. Drawn in stall 9, which isn't ideal on paper, but he showed good gate speed from stall 13 last time, so that shouldn't be a major concern if he breaks well again.

The last three races that Regal Envoy has raced in, he has always been partnered by Oisin Murphy. Together, they won two and finished second. One of those wins was over today's course and distance. He has gone up three pounds since his latest win, but with Oisin Murphy in the saddle, he is likely to once again steer Regal Envoy to victory.

Handicap debut for Miraculous. This looks to be a relatively exposed group of horses. If any sort of upside, this looks like a workable mark and can win here.

Miss Attitude, a 5-year-old Cityscape mare trained by Jack Channon, lines up in tomorrow’s 6f 21y Fitzdares Sprint Series Handicap at Windsor. Notably, David Probert, in strong form this season, takes the ride??'a confident booking that suggests she’ll be ridden with intent. Her recent outing at York (May 31) saw her finish a solid fifth of 13 in the William Hill Top Prices Handicap over 5f, staying on well in midfield on good ground. Prior to that, she claimed victory at Southwell on March 4 and ran commendably through the summer of 2024, including a win at Haydock and placed efforts at Goodwood and Doncaster. Stepping up to Windsor’s extra 21 yards and with Probert’s tactical nous onboard, Miss Attitude looks primed to target the places in a field suited to her sprinting pedigree. She’s one of those proven types who can surprise at decent quotes when conditions click.

I can’t be having Regal Envoy or Change Sings here; the former has to shoulder W Knight’s 9% SR (A/E 0.44) with fancied runners when the jockey has 5 mounts that day, meanwhile E Johnson Houghton doesn’t produce decent 5f sprinters (12% SR, A/E 0.46 when fancied). Handicap debutant Miraculous has it all to do off a mark of 99 IMO and I’m not convinced that Miss Attitude is up to winning at this level on evidence of her previous starts. I think an each way play is the way and the one that catches my eye the most is ROSARIO at 14/1. The son of Harry Angel comes out top + blue FlatStats rated and is a consistent sort, winning on his penultimate start at Goodwood. He only beat one home over 6f LTO at Newbury but still only lost by 3.75l and is back down to his preferred 5f today off an unchanged mark. The R Teal yard are having a fantastic season so far (23% SR, A/E 1.85), you’ve got to pay attention when they book C Fallon (22% SR, A/E 1.65) and Teal’s 28% SR (A/E 2.12) with 5f sprinters in C1-3 races adds further confidence.

Woolhampton is a course and distance winner. Was 5th over course and distance 21 days ago and is dropped 1 lb for that effort. On a good mark and is versatile on any ground, so should be capable of a good run here.

Adrestia has won two races at 5f. Fifth over 6f at Chester on her latest outing in August last year. Dropped in trip to 5f should suit. Seems well treated and could well be able to win this race.

More than decent Ex Irish performer, who has had 2 runs since joining this stable in Grp class races in Meydan. Going to find this class 2 handicap a lot easier than many of their recent assignments, top jockey up and very shrewd trainer has alway excelled in the sprinting sphere, making current 12/1 solid Ew value in the race.

The law of sod suggests that the 4-year-old colt 'Law of Average' doesn't have much of a chance based on his last run, 11/11 in a class 1 at Haydock. However, this is much easier, and he has won here before over C and D. So I recommend a small each-way bet on him.
