Champagne Twist was only beaten two lengths by Hidden History when third at Aintree. Off two pounds better terms here, he could get his revenge.

He was pitched into a Grade 2 novice over CD on chase debut. He didn't run too badly, only beaten 6L by the winner, Handstands, despite finishing in fourth place. Maybe he needed the run. He jumped right under pressure when tiring towards the final fence. He was then thrown into the deep end next time out, running in the Kauto Star Novices. He finished a well-beaten fourth this time behind The Jukebox Man. The winner is a high-class horse, so no disgrace here ??' just in too deep, it would seem. He made his reappearance in a very competitive novice chase at the October meeting at Cheltenham. Sporting the cheekpieces for the first time, he ran no race at all and was beaten a wide margin. Maybe the cheekpieces were the issue and the lack of a recent run. The cheekpieces are discarded this time, with just the tongue tie left on. He makes his handicap debut over fences this time, dropping to class 3 company and given a mark of 130. I think he's better than this for sure.

In D'Or switched to fences around this time last year and came straight in with two wins in a C4, followed by a C3. He was not disgraced when third in February in a C2 off a 133 on heavy ground, but has now changed yards to Fergal O'Brien, who will have him ready for this return back in C3 off a 133 on good to soft. So I expect more today.
